The Long Campaign - Does it ever end?

I have conquered the entire map including the Americas with the HRE. No end scene, no movie telling me I have won. Just another turn after turn of rebels popping up here and there. How do you actually win the long campaign (I played on after conquering the 45 provinces and Rome requirement at the beginning).

I don't want to just leave this game unended. I keep thinking there is a hidden province somewhere I have missed, but I found Brazil and Alepo and the outlying Eqyptian provinces. There are no black areas on the map. ACKKKKKKK this is frustrating.

You allready won mate. You won the moment you reached campaign goals.

Kind of like a boxing game, you won when you knocked him out, what you do now is kick the corpse

You can use toggle_fow to see if you missed a province, but since you said there are no black areas in your map... This game has no closure, I'm guessing you went past the turn limit as well. It just says 'turns remaining 0' but the turns keep going and going... There's no point in conquering everything.:thumbsdown:

You 100% sure you got that province in west Africa that is an absolute bitch to get to?

Have you taken Rome from the Papal States? For the HRE, Rome is the required city, not Jerusalem or Constantinople.

Edit: Oops, you've got Rome. . .I guess toggle_fow and see if there's anything not black and yellow.

You get the message when you meet the victory conditions. There's no lesser victory like in MTW

lame in my opinion... if there were a FANTASTIC ending movie when one conquered the entire world, i'd have the courage to do it too ^^

Getting 45 provinces and Rome is winning the long campaign.

There certainly is a movie when you meet your victory conditions. Fireworks and everything!

The game doesn't "end" then, though. You can keep playing. If you keep playing after that, don't expect anything else exciting to tell you you're still winning. ^_^
