An ahistorical addition?

I wanted to know if you guys would consider, for certain factions (like Makedonia, Ptolemaioi, Hayasdan, etc.), adding reforms similar to the Marian/Polybian reforms. Not to change the units, but sort of standardize them and allow greater recruitment areas. Mosly for factions like Arche-Seleukeia, who have to conquer huge expanses and territories very far away from their homeland (or any of the Diadochi for that matter).

I was also wondering if for the Karthadastim you would consider changing the victory conditions so that, since the Karthadastei have to eliminate the Romans to win (pretty much, there is a chance that the Romans will take Segestica and their extermination is not required), that their victory conditions could be turned into sort of them replacing the Roman Empire with a Carthaginian Empire.

In 272 Carthage really had no bad blood with the romans, so, no I don't think thats a good idea.

I'm just saying that to win a Carthaginian Campaign you have to take out the Romans. If that had happened its very possible that Carthage would have become the Phoenician Empire, taking Rome's place in history. In fact, if Hannibal had recieved the reinforcements he requested from Carthage during the siege of Rome he may well have defeated Rome completely, eliminating Carthage's only true rival within the mediterranean. What I would like to know is if the victory conditions for Carthage could be made so that you supplant the Roman Empire.

Not everyone had the same system as the Romans. The Greeks would build colonies and only recruit from their colonies to get units such as the Pezhetairoi. The Romans (after Marivs) trained foreigner in the Roman way.

You can change the Carthaginian VC in the script if you want, though you'll have to make a new map for the faction window if you want to see it.

Some factions will be getting reforms, but as of now many won't. We are going to do some things that will help some factions expand, especially as new units are worked on.

AS and Ptolemaioi already have very expansive recruitment through Klerouchikoi. Basically, in the time it takes to establish a government and build the MIC, military settlers will have started settling in the region giving you access to phalangites.

The Hellenistic factions in general have a semi-reform, but it is sort of abstracted. This is the Thorakitai, which are only available in, I believe, MIC4. They represent a sort of paradigm shift influenced by the Romans. I think it would be safe to say though that Romans weren't the only influence for this as the Galatians certainly had their fair, albeit relatively small, share as well as a natural evolution in the concept of the Thureophoroi. So again, the time it takes for you to establish a government and build the appropriate MIC would be the time in which it takes for the Thorakitai to maturely develop as a distinct unit.

In a nutshell the time it takes to establish MIC "X" in Region "Y" is the time it would take for the concepts of Heavy units like the Thorakitai to naturally develop within the region.
