Yes, infantry gets a bonus if they are braced for the charge. I'm not sure what the bonus is but keep infantry stationary if they're being charged.

If cavalry charge after infantry that are charging away after another unit it is ineffective. A few infantry get caught, few casualties, then both units fight. This has always bothered me how poor such a cavalry charge is.
Barbarians get a bonus if they warcry and attack. So brace or attack? Difficult one.
