Question about AI

I have noticed before sometimes the computer will send a diplomat or something to one of my cities and it will show an animation of him doing SOMETHING, but he does his animation then it is on to the next computer. I was curious if like he is trying to initiate diplomatic stuff and I have to click something, or what the heck is going on.

I have been curious about what is going on for EVER now, and since I just joined these forums, figured maybe someone would know what the computer is doing when this is going on.

that usually means he is trying to bribe you ^^

yeah if you see his diplomat doing the "make a deal" animation what he's doing is saying:

"PLEASE ASSASSINATE ME NOW":skull:


you may even notice the generals at that (usually a) settlement gain some kind of trait from it...

in my experience captains are easier to bribe than real leaders ("family members") so when possible keep 'your people' in charge of key settlements and armies...
