Well this is rather inconvenient.
I'm quite happily doing my stuff trying to sort out some old folders i never use when *pop* everything on my desktop (deskbar, icons, everything) vanished, leaving me with an xfire chat window and an MSN chat window.
The only way i managed to open Opera was through Crtl+Alt+Del and using that to start a new process.
What the hell happened?

The process "explorer.exe" crashed.
Nothing grave. Try to log out and in again.
Or if you can start a new process, try explorer.exe.

ctrl + shift + escape > file > run > explorer.exe, as R'as al Ghul said ~;)

Ah, thanks guys. It's happening a lot recently. Very annoying.
