Loss of Internet Connection
My main computer has lost internet connection or at least is not able to properly connect even if the control panel shows that connection is in process.
It leads me to suspect the connection settings are perhaps not in order. If so, I am uncertain as to how I am to approach this due to my limited connection settings knowledge since for some time already -- months -- all that has become necessary is to plug in the damn cable without having to set up things the hard way and it works.
What I remember when it occurred was that I just installed (and deinstalled) a program called SSH Tunnel (used to supposedly simplify port-forwarding).
After I discovered it was a piece of crap I deinstalled it. Sometime afterwards I noticed the ability to connect properly to the internet was damaged.
I used the installed/deinstalled programme only shortly and cannot precisely remember what I, or it, did during the time it was installed.
How must I proceed?
Re: Loss of Internet Connection
First, try resetting your router and or router/modem.
Try to disable your connection and reconnect after the router is reset.
You should be able to access your router from Internet Explorer just by typing in your IP. If you can do this, then its your connected to the router, but just simple can't connect to the internet.
If you want to port forward, google port forward on google and there is a site called portforward.com which will go through the steps on how to forward said port. Its fairly simple and you shouldn't need a 3rd party program to do it.

Ah, I just format the whole thing. It needs it anyway. Thanks anyway.
