RTW Empires Mod

I am working on developing a mod for RTW which would run through BI based on empires. It would include the Mauryan, Seleucid, Lyssimachan, Carthaginian, and Ptolemaic empires. Along with other smaller factions including the Romans, Arabs, and emergent Parthians. What I need to know is if anyone is at all interested in helping out. I am somewhat new the the graphical modding of Rome, so I would need help creating a new map, along with possibly new unit skins.

If anyone is interested I will post more information about the mod, and regardless, I will work on this mod myself to finish it, but it wouldnt be as good. :laugh4:

does anyone know how to combine/ change units in and out of MODS
i am playing RTRPE 1.9(RTW 1.5/RTWBI 1.6) and want to import the Greek units from XGM into RTRPE so it will play with the update units, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

right, will do, just have to get the info off my home computer! well, it was originally my bother's idea. but now hes off at college studying ancient history of the romans, greeks, and persians, so ive got a great resource there for accuracy! lol hes helping me out with info, im doing the coding stuff.

Here is some basic info: The unit lists are not set in stone, just a relative idea. i havent finished the pantheons for some factions but each type of temple will have a unique effect, and since i dont have a functional map yet, i havent been able to test anything -_- some of it is ported from an earlier and much simpler mod i did, so most of it will definately work.

Heres a starting image of India in its infant stages. I haven't worked out the regions, but there will be about 150 or so. The focus of the mod is essentially the east and the conflict between the successors and eastern powers (India, Parthia). however, there will also be the western empries to face off against. The time period stretches from 285BC to 108BC, right before the marian reforms.

The minimap in the image below is accurate. That is to say it accurately represents the extended area of playability. It essentailly doubles the vanilla map size. I'm currently working on finishing the campaign map, then will start working on factions. I am currently looking for some help with this mod. I would really like a skinner to create new units, but any help with all of the text file editing would be great too!

If you are making a Gangaridoi faction or rebel units in that area, I could help. I have spearmen, light infantry and missile troops from an old mod I did (but the chariots are kind of buggy). I just have to find them :candle:.

well, since i dunno what Gangaridoi is exactly, i cant answer that. what i can say is that there will be an India faction(Mauryans) and they would definately need some unique skins. i would really appreciate if you could find those units!

The Gangaridoi and the Prasioi (obviously what the Greeks called them) were the tribes who Alexanders troops were afraid of facing in the Ganges delta area. The problem with the units for your mod is that they have a distinct mix of Burmese and Bengali cultures which is quite different from the Mauryans in your mod. That was why I was specifically asking about them.

hmm, you have a point, but all the same, they would be better than no indian-like units at all. in any case i do have part of the Ganges river inlcuded on the map, so perhaps these units can live there and only be recruitable in that area...just a thought.

The map is finished, though the cities and resources arent yet on. there may be a few minor changes to the map, but nothing drastic. im now moving on to getting the faction symbols/colors accurate, then get the cities fixed up for the map, along with the resources. here are the last few screens for the areas not yet shown.

This is actually a new unit, created by taking pieces from different textures and putting it on an existing model. this unit is the Thracian Peltast, owned by the Lysimachan Empire. hope you like it.
