Did you read anything about the expansion during its year of production? This wasn't exactly a surprise.
I know what your saying the welsh campaign in vi was super fun. So of the 4 campaigns I was naturally looking forward to britannia the most and it was a bit of a dissappointment.
However I'm now playing the americas campaign as spain and its much more interesting and from what I've read the other 2 campaigns are excellent as well.
Give them a try man I think they will change your opinion of this expansion.

I loved VI myself, and sometimes still go back to that campaign, so I know what you're saying. It would seem like they'd need to change a lot (at least in the look/feel of the units and campaign) to make a Viking campaign work with M2, though.
