Accents & the map

Hi,
I have to start off by saying that the Kingdoms expansion is brilliant, including the Britannia campaign. I do have a couple of complaints though.
I don't know whether I'm imagining things, but the Welsh faction in the campaign all seem to speak with strong English accents. What's more, the Irish seem to speak with Scottish accents, even making references to claymores :inquisitive: . It's a little disappointing that new voices weren't recorded, and it seems a strange oversight when so many new features were added.
My only other complaint that the campaign map is a bit dodgy in places. Anglesey is shown as being connected to the Welsh mainland. Secondly, a fictional river divides England and South Wales. Maybe this is meant to be the Severn, which actually sweeps round more to the East, running from the Welsh mountains through Shrewsbury and Gloucester. Another problem is that the Severn does not, and never did, form the boundary between England and Wales (look it up if you don't believe me). If it's not the Severn then it could be a distorted version of the Wye, and the Severn, one of Britain's most important rivers, has been omitted. I don't expect 100% historical accuracy in a Total War game, but reasonable geographical accuracy doesn't seem to much to ask.
Sorry if I bored anyone with that, but it is a bit irritating, especially for someone who lives in the Severn valley. The Britannia campaign has some great features; permanent forts, cultural troop recruitment, the Barons' Revolt, etc :beam: . However, it does seem a bit unfinished in parts.
Anyone agree?

Probably that problem that the game designers have with gameplay v realism.

Having been on these boards (lurking and posting) for a while now it seems that a few people get upset (see upset not mildly miffed) about historical inaccuracies and others get upset with unbalanced gameplay.

So I assume that the game desingers try and please the majority - right down the middle. If that means omitting a river then so be it. It is never good when they leave the area of the world that you are in out - I know, New Zealand is usually omitted (try the risk game board).

But hey it's good, when you play your mate from Aussie, he can never get his hands on NZ either :laugh4: .

As for the voices - that is a bit lazy, granted. It has been a problem for alot of the TW games. In the (mild) defense when I was in the UK the amount of accents I found baffling. Welsh, Northern Welsh, Southern Welsh, were all different. I could not even understand the Scoucers and lads from Northern Scotland (Aberdeen) and as for the Irish well...

Then I told them that I had a different accent to the Aussies. Got told that I was dreaming. "fush and chups" anyone?

But true Welsh and English are different, and so are Scots and Irish. That is lazy.

There's also the issue of recording more voices which would take too much time from developping the rest of the campaign.

Adding accents for Welsh, Scottish, Irish so on, seems to be quit lame and irrelevant in a game were the french king sends his troops into battle with a "vi vill distroi zem"...

Clearing the bugs and focusing on the gameplay balance is a much more important project than mapping someones village, dunnes around it and their unique pronounciation for spiirs. It is a game after meant to entertain, not a google earth.
