1. From the posts EB 1x will require a clean install of RTW 1.5. Is this correct?
2. Are any of the unofficial mods now official, e.g. darth formations, mercenary and money balancing mods?
3. Will it BI compatible?
4. Have any of the unofficial modders sneak access to test their creations over EB 1X?

Yes. No. No.
Errant is a beta tester, so yes. No others, but a couple of the other "unofficial modders" have joined the team.
I'm not a member, but I can help with a few questions.

2. don't know, but I doubt it, at least not in they're current form.
3. highly unlikely
4. who knows...
I'm sure Bovi or TA will be around soon to answer more clearly...
Nevermind....he's faster than a speeding Hippies....
But don't forget, it will actually be playable on BI, it's just not officially supported. At least it has been until now so unless something changes that makes it completely unplayable for whatever reason with BI it should be fine.
Unless you plan on reintroducing the Senate BI compatibility is assured...

-1.0 will have a slightly different architecture so it would be a good thing to use a clean RTW 1.5. In fact ever since EB used the mod folder architecture that has been the case (requiring a clean 1.5 build).
-No unofficial mods have been fully incorporated; and unofficial formation mods have been left out completely.
-It sure will. In exactly the same way as it is now.
-Not as unofficial modders; but you are right: some people who have worked on their own unofficial mods also have been/are beta testing the build.
The team confirmed a long time ago that they would look into game balance before the release of 1.0. That's what the modded money scripts and merc files were meant to fix in the first place. Along with certain other changes.Quote:

Still, game balance is definitely an area that can do with continuous tweaking. While we feel we've got it better in 1.0 than in any previous release, I'm sure many will prefer alternative schemes for assistance. We'll be changing things in later versions out of necessity, both due to new features and the more extensive testing that having the build public provides.
