I've heard a friend and a few threads here mention Storms and losing Fleets because of them in RTW...
I've never seen a Storm event (random or scripted) in RTW 1.5 at all, would someone who's more familiar with earlier versions of RTW care to explain..?

Basically storms would randomly appear over certain parts of the sea and any ships that get caught under it suffer casualties. You'd see a nice little storm cloud and sound effects.
Here I lost about 10 characters in a single storm!

A shame the storms seemed to vanish after the first couple patches, although the captains of the ships don't mind.

I don't think it's possible to add them yourself. None of the big mod teams have managed to achieve it as far as I know.
Suprising, I would've thought a random event like a Storm could be re-activated, but thank you.
Didn't EB manage to get them into the 1.0? Check around their forum.
Nope it says storms were beyond their power to fix. It's one of those hardcoded things that CA in their infinite wisdom chose to overlook, as well as the movement bug that affects regions when there's been a flood.
