Website Updated (like you didn't know)

Okay the website has been updated.

The Eleutheroi unit pages has MANY new units and each faction has at least received two new units or reskins. (well except Sauromatae)

The Galleries have also been updated a bit, most notably the Artwork one.

The Downloads section will be updated in the future even more, with the links from where you can download 1.0, plus game guides (a few images and some PDFs you will love), misc stuff (like the Recruitment Viewer which is still being made) and two new wallpapers have been added to the Artwork section.

The maps have not been updated for the website yet, but will be done soon.

However, something VERY important:

Apparently the browsers do not detect the correct charset the website is using (8859-1 for you tech savvy).
If you see unit names with ? or other strange symbols, then change the Character Encoding in your browser.

In Firefox you go to View --> Character Encoding --> and select Western (ISO-8859-1)

In Internet Explorer it is View --> Encoding --> Western (ISO) (or something like that. Internet Explorer on my computer is in Norwegian. And no, it's not my default browser, Firefox is, but ever tried to remove IE without doing something drastic?)

Don't know for Opera, but probably something similar.

My character encoding is already set to western ISO 8859-1 but I still see ??s.

Edit: There seem to be less of them now that I go through the pages again. Only these are left with ??s:

Shuban-� Fradakhshana (Eastern Slingers)
Er�namesh ana-Arabim (East Coast Levies)

There were definitely a LOT more ??s the first time I checked the pages.

On my Firefox (2.0.0.7) when I switch from Unicode to ISO 8859-1 I can see the special characters...if anyone got any ideas, I'm all ears.

EDIT: Aha, thanks guys. Still, charsets is fubar.

Hmm, looks like my browser (FF 2.0.0.7) automatically switches to Unicode when I enter some of the pages. Strange.

Don't use anything but Unicode & make sure to use a font containing them too. ~;) (Windows convert tables don't work that well...)

I checked the gallery page for some new screenies aswell, I thought maybe Abou had been abit cheeky and snuck some on there, but alas no...a heads-up to those who have entered screenie comps of late however, two of my screenies from recent competions were there (so that makes me happy), perhaps some of your own pics got up there too?



Anyhow, from those who do the artwork through to those who help with tech issues in-game and on the forum, all your efforts are vital to the success of this mod (new game), you all deserve all the praise you shall recieve! Thanks again fellas for all your hard work.

Wow beautiful units guys! It just amazes me that all these talented folks will work so hard on a mod like this for free. I sometimes have to slap myself to be sure I'm not dreaming...:juggle2:

That's why all of the fans should donate to help pay for servers and webspace, etc. when they ask for it.

They deserve it, considering EB rules many of our lives. I know I find myself thinking of KH strategy (or whatever) when I'm at work, shopping, driving....hmmm, maybe I play this game too much.

EB is officially made of awesome and win. The slightly annoying issue with the charsets nonwithstanding. :sweatdrop:

Also, I remember back in the day the Pontic intro text talking about "axes of the interior"; leave it to the team to by far exceed my expectations regarding what lay behind that... damn, but the whole Pontus Euxine region seems to be rotten with guys sporting fancy hats, sharp axes and copious amounts of bad attitude. Me like. :beam:

Yeah I really don't see what every one is getting so excited about, afterall, he hasn't been rude or flamed anyone. Granted it seems rather strange he should only choose to post in threads that are old, but....


Its not doing any harm.

People are frustrated because he seems to be attempting to build his post count with short comments in a ton of threads.
