Interesting bit of trivia.
Playing SP Campaign (English, Early) and I wanted to see what would happen (treaty-wise, Papal-wise, etc.) if I attacked the French. So, I saved the game prior to attacking, saw that it was NOT a good thing, so I went back to the loaded game.
Next turn, the Sneaky French Swine attacked me! It must have known I was thinking about it. And of course, when I whipped ass back into France, the Pope excommunicates ME for attacking my Christian brethren (well, I could have stopped before two years, but that would have been no fun).
Anyway, an interesting turn of events. Now, I own all of proper Western Europe because all of my "friends" turned on me. All for the best, I s'pose. Had to leave a lot of land in Africa to the Egyptians, though. Too many fronts to fight.
