Retraining bug?
Playing as England, I've got 2 units of 40 English Knights and 2 units of 60 Retinue Longbowmen plus some other units in Toledo, which is a full-built up citadel (including canons) with a Master's Swordsmith guild. The game is offering to retrain these 4 units, and no others in Toledo. I've been retraining these 4 units over and over for many turns, and the training isn't sticking somehow.
If I right click on the Retinue Longbowmen in the unit window they show xp 0, but if I right click on them in the retraining window they show xp 2. In the unit window they show no xp chevrons, and silver shields. There are no other Retinue Longbowmen units in the citadel other than these two, so the two units its showing me in the retraining window have to be the same two in the unit window -- even though they show different levels of experience!
The English Knights are a little more confusing because I have three units of them in the citadel. As far as the unit window is concerned one is xp 4 and the other two are xp 0. In the retraining window I have 2 units, both that show xp 4 if I right click on them.
Is this a known bug with a known workaround? I think I saw this before in this game with Sherwood archers, but that eventually sorted itself out somehow. I don't know what I did that got the units fixed.
Thanks

Re: Retraining bug?
A bug
Remove them from the retraining queue then add them back in just before you hit end-of-turn. If you like to save the game at the end of each turn then do this remove-add thing after saving.

Re: Retraining bug?
do you have any buildings in that settlement that give certain units experience bonuses?

Re: Retraining bug?
It is a known bug, and a very annoying one. Don't save your game if you have anything in the recruit queue.

Re: Retraining bug?
Very irritating bug. The only guaranteed way to fix it is to wait until the very end of your turn, remove all units from your recruitment queues in all of your cities, use a spy or other agent's abilities on the enemy which, I'm told, resets the seed, and then put your units back in the training queue. It's particularly prevalent and annoying when you have a Master Swordsmith and Horsebreeder's Guilds, but the English get pegged with it a lot too over the Woodsmen's Guild.
