what if the faction limit was higher, no unit limit, and no province limit?
if the faction limit was around 15-20 factions, no unit limit, and no/very high province limit what would you add?
i'd like to see pergamon, massilia, a faction in crimea(panticapaeum would be great), independent rhodes athens and sparta(though that would be chaos T_T), maybe axum, and even the maurya empire and the chinese!!! :)
from what i've read pergamon was quite the power later on..
i've read(albeit from an unreliable source so its not even remotely sure) that there were some pergamene hetairoi in magnesia so if that was really a unique unit to them it would be doubly great :p
while massilia's position is just interesting, perhaps a celto-hellenic faction..
gaul to the northwest, the alps to the northeast, rome to the southeast, iberia to the southwest, and sardinia, corsica, and the belearic isles across the sea.
panticapaeum would be a really great faction... perhaps a scythian-hellenic faction and units? that would be great!
Re: what if the faction limit was higher, no unit limit, and no province limit?
I'm thinking under the restriction of the map staying the same size (more provinces could be added, but no expansion of the total map borders).
I wouldn't mind seeing another German faction to fill up all that rebel space between the Sweboz, Romani and Getai.
An Indian faction also.
For the rest, I'm pretty content with EB as it is, so I'd probably stick to adding more units for already-existing factions.
To me, there'd be no point adding the Chinese. They didn't come into contact with Europe at all, and it would take ages to reach most other factions. Even if you added another steppe horde (Hsiung-Nu?), they'd still mostly just be fighting each other.
I wouldn't mind either Numidia/Mauretania, or simply more units for Carthage and Rome representing these (more mercenaries, essentially).
Hell, even a second Latin faction.
Re: what if the faction limit was higher, no unit limit, and no province limit?
ya, there could even be a samnite facton.....
AW: what if the faction limit was higher, no unit limit, and no province limit?
We'd probably have more emerging factions. But we need EB for the BI exe with horde function, religion and loyalty.
Re: AW: what if the faction limit was higher, no unit limit, and no province limit?
Actually AFAIK you don't need BI for any of those...

Uhm, EB already has 20 factions + the eleutheroi as it is. ~;)
But if I got to choose 20 factions more, then hmm... lets see...
Well, the first thing I would do would be to add 20 new "barbarian" tribes in Europe. I'd then delete the Saba, Saka-Rauka, Sauromatae, Pahlava, AS, basically every faction east of Athenai except for Bartix (no Eastern weakling can stand against them anyway, so having early opponents to Bartix is only a waste of faction space), and replace those with some more "barbarian" tribes in Europe. I would then give the Romans one generic spearunit, one generic shortsword unit, one übercrappy cavalry unit and incendiary pigs as their bodyguard unit and call them complete. No imperial cohorts for you, shortie. :sweatdrop:
As a last touch I'd give the "barbarian" tribes in Europe all possible (and impossible, as we're allowed to be creative here - werewolves and werebears would most certainly be incorporated somewhere) units and begin the slaughter. That's what I would call fun! But perhaps this was not the kind of answer you were looking for...
Re: what if the faction limit was higher, no unit limit, and no province limit?
There are 10 new factions available in EB2 on M2TW. There are tons of suggestions and ideas for factions over at the EB2 forums. The team can't really comment here, without giving away some of the choices already made. But if you search the EB2 forums thoroughly, you'll probably be able to figure out some of the ones choosen.
If the map had more provinces, I would amagine India would be added and the rest of the province slots would fill out places on the current map.
Re: what if the faction limit was higher, no unit limit, and no province limit?
when is EB2 coming out? yeears from now?
Re: what if the faction limit was higher, no unit limit, and no province limit?
Add ten different kinds of Roman rebels.

EB would be complete in the 2020's.
