first: i played shogun for some time and i used to be a great strategist no mater how many troops enemy used to have, whith some elite units with high morale i allways won So if they attacked me whith 3000 and i drive out all the enemy troops from the battelfield i won they don't send anymore troops Now in MTW even if i have the best troops whith battles for 3 hours i run out of ammunition and my troops are exhausted after some time and the enemy keeps sending troops so if i follow the routed enemy with cavalry, at the border the enemy sends new units my cavalry is exausted, no cover from ranged units, is sure defeat So no mater how good strategist you are you must have enought reserves but you cannot chose what unit to bring on the battlefield maybe i need cavalry not archers. So with battles that take for so long i want to auto resolve some of the battles but the computer ussualy defeats me no mater how good is my units
Some more things what is with so many 9 star enemy generals in shogun it was so hard to get to 6 grade and why almohads are so strong?

I’m not seeing what you are complaining about. Isn’t the fact that a few elite troops can no longer win against truly overwhelming odds a good thing? I mean, it doesn’t matter how good you are, if the bad guys keep coming, sooner or later you’re going to go down...
Is auto-resolve not working? What kind of battles is auto-resolve losing that you think it should be winning? What kind of odds are we talking about here?
And why can you not choose which units to bring onto the battlefield? I’ve never had any problems like that. Do you understand how re-enforcement works?
The Almohads are strong because Spain is top-notch country and if things go poorly for the Spanish (which they often do in the Early campaign) the Almohads have it all to themselves. In the few cases I’ve seen where the Spanish have won, they’ve become even worse than the Almohads because they don’t get weaker as the ages progress! Whoever takes Spain is going to be a powerhouse. Be prepared.

maybe about re-enforcement i'm wrong but i still think that battles are too long. what i want to say is that whith good units i drive the first wave of enemies whith very few loses but when he sends wave after wave of fresh troops even the best units can't resist. And waiting for time to run out isn't a solution. But what about 9 star generals almohads have a lot of them maybe after so many revolts that my spies are causing.
In shogun my 30 battle wins no losses daymio was only 5 grade and it was even harder to advance more. I think 9 stars generals are to powerfull And about re enforcements why coming allrady tired on the battlefield and they never seems to recover strenght no mater how long i wait they still are quite tired. In this game condition of the troops is the difference between loosing or winning

Not on defense, but on offense. I almost lose a couple battle like that during the campaign against the Egyptian. Especially in the desert, my troops (Spanish) got tired too quick compare to the level of activity of the Egyptian troops .They are actively running back and forth in front of my troops and my troops have never managed to catch up with them.

It works fairly well and fairly accurate I guess. Auto-resolve will result in a win for the army that has higher total strenght. In some battle, I tried to auto resolve and fight the battle myself then compare the kill/lost/capture rate. Example: battle in Egypt, my troops (Spanish, defense) around 3000 consist of the best such as Swiss armoured pikemen, Chilvaric man-at-arm, chilvaric knight, lancer, feudal knight, jinete, good missile & some siege engines, AI troops (Egyptian, attack) over 4000 good mix of good and early classes. I have advantage in quality of troops while the Egyptian has more troops.
Auto-resolve: win, kill a lot (2968), lost a lot (1429) capture lot (1221). Higher ratio, but suffer more. Near decisive if I can bring in the reinforcement quickly.
Fight it myself: win, kill less (852) lost less (708), capture insigficant (79). Lower ratio, but suffer less. There are still a lot more I have to deal with if they come back.

I can choose the initial force, but how can I decide which unit I can call in next? (in the reserve pool). Any one can explain about the reinforcement system? I susually have to select the reserve as I think I should have once I need replacement.

I find that as soon as you break the first wave, reform your infantry back into their positions so they can rest for the second wave. Send your LIGHT cavalry or Cav Archers to make sure the routers don't rally. Before the Cavalry hit the reinforcements bring them back at a normal speed to rest up as well.
This generally works unles you are vastly outnumbered. Seems to work upto about 2to1 sometimes 3to1.
