Something not quite right with Teutons..
Well so I started the Teutonic campaign playing as the Teutonic Order. I read the manual and all and it said that the order can't build a city past the minor city level which I assume locks the large and huge stone wall buildings. However as I progressed, it seemed that I could advance past minor city so the only downside it seems for the Order is getting crap city units rather than a monetary problem.
On a side note, why the hell did the Danes get the Hanseatic League when they werent controlling the majority of the required settlements? I had 2 of them and they had 1, or maybe 2. The last one was controlled by Poland which was my ally and not the Dane's.
Re: Something not quite right with Teutons..
they'll fix those in the patch ~
Re: Something not quite right with Teutons..
berghers are not crappy at all and knetchen allow you to build a horse breeders guild without bleeding tons of gold! Also hanseatic league requries only 3 of the 5 cities associated.

@supadodo
The Teutonic order can upgrade their cities. Just read the readme file:
Quote:
Teutonic Campaign: Playing as the Teutonic Order
Castle-Driven Build Options
The Teutonic Order is capable of upgrading its city settlements past the
level of City and converting castles to cities; however the Order does not
endorse the construction of the Brothel, Pleasure Palace and other buildings
in the Tavern chain which encourage impious behaviour amongst its citizens.
The Teutonic Order will instead need to maintain public order with an iron
fist, and rely on its Castle Libraries and Academies to recruit Spies,
Diplomats and Assassins. These buildings can be constructed in castles
above the level of Wooden Castle.
Re: Something not quite right with Teutons..
Take note that if you capture a town with a brothel or higher level, and it doesn't get "demolished", you can keep it (doesn't get auto destroyed, which is what i assumed at the start). In fact, on my first Teutonic Campaign as The Order, in Jerusalem (had a Tavern or Inn), and turned it into a Master Assassin's Guild, which purged the infidels(Egypt, Lithuania, nosy Poles and HRE units) quite quickly and effectively, at very little cost. :laugh4:
edit: Fixed typo
Re: Something not quite right with Teutons..
Well when I meant crappy, I meant they were a tad expensive for their performance. Burghers cost 550 and with the pikemen problem(switch to swords to quickly) they can be a pain at times though that hasn't deterred me from stacking cities full of em along with crossbows. I guess I was a bit disappointed that the Order only had handgunners for gunpowder infantry.
Oh yeah, I demolished the Hanseatic league hq in hamburg since that place was a hotzone for enemy conflict and I wanted a swordsmith there instead. I destroyed the merchant guild in visby to make space but so far the hanseatic league never gave another offer. Is it a one time offer only?
