Ah well it's just christmas.
Why celebrate christmas once a year when you can have a multiculture all the time? Yeah, Labour is finally starting to completily lose it. Yes, let's give the other cultures some chance and celebrate a little less, and let's replace it with another ceremony, good idea. Of course our house fundamentalist minister of integration Ella Vogelaar loves the idea, sometimes a picture says more then a thousand words;

Oh multiculture blessed is your name absolute is your truth, show us the way and critisism shall have no dominion, so help us our militants, amen.
Give me a break or at least a little breath,
nuts.

Christmas has to go...?
You wouldn't happen to have a linky or something, do you?
-
Re: Ah well it's just christmas.
It's probably just another rehash of the "Daily Mail ohnoes here's another made up story about Xmas being banned" that crops up every year, and only gets older and never any truer. So unless there's actually anything behind it, I'd say that word Tribsey has so immortalised that ends with X and begins with B.

Only in dutch. Not really 'has to go' but less profound, and more emphasise, which usually let's itselve read as financial promotion, of the festivities of other cultures. And even a universal one lol. This leap of faith contest of the followers of universal one is starting to grow ever more grotesque.

Re: Ah well it's just christmas.
If I see that correctly they have some really big letters in the background of the picture saying "ramadan festival".
I'm not sure what to think about it, if we have muslims here, they can celebrate ramadan, but replacing christmas xmas with ramadan sounds a bit weird.

This doesn't. Not even angry just tired.

That one hits the nail though Husar, Christmas was replaced long ago, not with ramadan, but with X-mas :laugh4:
I would love to see easter and christmas replaced with 2 extra free holiday weeks though. I don't see why we should force people to use their holiday at those dates... Might be hard to do, but if it's possible, then I'd support it. Some people might choose to use it during holiday, some would still use it at the same dates, other people might want to take a week or two off to flee the cold winter in january/february etc...

No that's not it, that picture was taken in the Netherlands, That's Ella in Wonderland our minister of integration who is completily utterly insane. No talk about replacing it with ramadan. It isn't like the cult respects that either you know, they only respect their ideal, islam is just a little harder to reel in, and will have to go at some point but in the meantime feed it some scraps.

I don't see it as insane to want to remove religion.

I think we should remove atheism though, it's what breeds this multiculturalism stuff, it destroys our values, our morals, our jobs, our governments, our countries!!!!1111
When we still had a christian Kaiser, everything was better. :shame:

Well, you christians are doing your best to do that.... Can't see why it's wrong for us non-believers to do the same thing to you though ~;)

Re: Ah well it's just christmas.
People want the prosperity that seems comes with skilled immigration. Skilled immigrants will have representative power due to the higher average income. The more immigrants there are, the more power they represent. Because of this power and the fact that the country becomes part theirs after they've lived there for a while, they don't want "their state" to have a State Religion at odds with their own. This really does make sense. People are trading cultural identity for fast track prosperity - which really makes sense if your cultural identity doesn't mean that much to you in the first place.
If it does, you're out of luck.
National divisions and ethnicity are arbitrary and Christianity did much better when it was persecuted anyway.
On the other hand, you could come to a middle ground and allow only immigrants who wished to adopt general cultural values (religion, patriotism, etc) into the country. Trade off a little economic prosperity. (most major western countries are already too far gone one way to implement this)

Now, tell me, Frag, how is having christian holidays made into national holidays in a supposedly secular country fair to everybody who isn't a Christian? If we're going to be treating everybody the same, why not just give everybody a week or two per year that they can use for their personal religious holidays.(aka, quanza, easter, channukah, etc...)

In all honesty who has a higher skillset?
Someone who has gone through a trade school and/or university who has a professional specialty and a broad educational and social awareness. (This can include religious preachers by the by)
Or someone who is a fundamentalist whose field of study is so narrow in focus that it automatically excludes other options (which can happen in non religious courses too).
In general though a business/engineering/arts/engineering educated person tends to be of the first set. While the second set seems to be more prolific from third worlders and home schoolers. Rutherford was rather blinkered in his approach to women being educated in Physics... ironic since he was home schooled by his mum. Anyhow a lot of 'education' seems to be about removing other options from sight, and this is more easily done be home schooling and/or in a religious school. This in turns means they are a higher resource of blinkered religion ie fundamentalism. However don't for a moment believe that any other course of study that is over specialised or elitist can not cause such a hubris to create fundamentalists. Jingoism and elitism can create another form of blinkers very close in resolution to that of the religious fundamentalism.
I'm sure that there are multicultural fundamentalists. In some ways that is an oxymoron if they are removing one culture in favour of another. My preferred model of multiculturalism is an international food court using the local health laws... best blend of all... that and multi-origin coffee. :2thumbsup:

The same reason why we still "in god we trust" printed on money.
It doesn't even matter anymore. Christmas has lost much of its religious value to most people anyway. It's more rooted in culture and tradition rather than faith.

Hate to break it to you, Frag but this isn't your nemesis 'multiculture' at work, this is Political Correctness gone mad, and even then, I doubt this is true, merely another thread for you to ramble about your disgust for the government accomodating people who are different than you.

I'd doubt you have a say in Frag's mind though, being an armenian I think you're one of those behind his conspiracy...
But hey, you're in excellent company :2thumbsup:

Re: Ah well it's just christmas.
Just because they ban it doeesn't mean that people won't celebrate it. Religion should be kept to the home. Perhaps a good idea would be to make it a national day off, then let people celebrate it?
I dunno, it doesn't bother me either way.

Hmm, doesn't really seem like a joke to me...:inquisitive: Although I'll admit I mistook if for being religious, which it isn't exactly, but I digress. Anyhow, do you mind answering the question I pozed, PanzerJager, since you are right along with Fragony on his views here? You know, rather than attempting to make other forum goers look incompetent?

Re: Ah well it's just christmas.
How many times have we fought the War on Christmas anyway? When will the specters of Christmas ever die?
It's like a frickin' hydra. We cut off its tin-hatted head this December, and it comes back next year, same day same time, like a bloody insurgent. I'm tired of this war, really. It's an unwinnable quagmire that we can't get out of.
