38.
Got mine up to 42 but then I missed a couple and slipped to 39.
37 after I got to 400 grams. I got up to about 40, but then it slipped around the middle.
Wow, those words were hard.
I'm a lowly 33, darn those one syllable words.
I guess I consume about 2500 grains of rice per meal so that puts me about 5000-6000 grains of rice per day. Man, I need to horde less rice.
Was at 46 after 490 grains. Would probably have gone up.
Those words are wicked hard though. The ones I knew I've never used in real life, and there were bunches I've never heard before but I did pretty well at guessing their meaning for some reason. A lot comes down to etymology I think.
I plan to do 100 words a day for the next month, which should feed one person for roughly a week.

Perhaps we should start an Org challenge to see who can do the most in a week? I'd be up for it.Quote:

36 at 1970 grams.
I'm quite happy with 36. Some were fiendishly hard or obscure.
Sometimes I didn't even know what half the words in the answer meant. But with some etymology and logic I got a long way. The great thing about English is that most of it's 'difficult' words are derived from Latin languages. Or they are the local variant of international Greek / Latin words.
English academic discourse is easier to understand than a pub conversation.
At 1000g I'm at 48. I confess to some lucky guesses and pattern observationbut also to missing some words whose alternate definitions I should have knownSpoiler Alert, click show to read:As with any multiple choice test if you take your time and use clues within the question (word) it isn't hard to get even a complete unknown down to a 50-50 possibility.Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Of course I guess taking your time is rather counter purposeful in light of the larger goal of the site. :idea2: I suspect if I buzzed through them I'd be in the 40 range. Does the rating go above fifty?

Highest I had it at was 41. That was hard, the next one is particularly hard and I don't know the answer, so if I carry on my score will be punished...
I have 230 grains now and a vocab level of 36.
Some words are a bit weird but many can be easily derived from latin.
That, and you can get a few by process of ellimination.
Also some of their 'definitions' are very loose indeed, they're like they came out a dodgy thesaurus. A good test, but not so good for learning new words.
44 at 500.
I agree with what some have said above, if you know a little Latin it's a lot easier.
4150 in total so far, peak vocabulary level at 47.
42 at 750.
Level 44 words and counting! YAY!
I am sorely tempted to get my dictionary out. :P
Donated 510, rating a lowly 31.:embarassed:
Level 50! Yay! (after taking a drop to 35 and having to recover :P)
Got to 45 then dropped to 40, aarrghh!
It's a nice idea though - good excuse to waste more time on web :wall:
EDIT: did get to 46 a couple of times but keep going back to about 43
Is that not a pretty big spoonful?Quote:

Fell to Level 15 (!!!!), then clawed my way back to 32. Got 2000 grains of rice though
No wonder. How do you supposed to know what this words meant if english isn't your primary language?:inquisitive:Quote:

that's kind of depressing you can get just under my average (with minor help from translator - they are quite bad) - and I can't even work out what letters in Russian are :embarassed:Quote:
