Why are my bribees dying.
In my KH campaign I managed to bribe Thermon and both generals in the city but for some reason they both died when I ended the turn, it says they were killed in battle but they didn't do anything, this isn't the first time either, it happened to at least 50% of bribed generals in my Rome campaign as well.
Do you guys have any ideas of what's going on?
Re: Why are my bribees dying.
If I remember correctly, at least eleutheroi generals with "Immobile" trait die when bribed.
Re: Why are my bribees dying.
In that case client kings probably die when bribed too.
Re: Why are my bribees dying.
They felt so ashamed for betraying their country that they committed suicide.
That's my theory :beam:
Re: Why are my bribees dying.
Or possible it was just a minor bug :idea2:
Re: Why are my bribees dying.
Hehe.
You're lucky. I lost almost 2000 men and two generals (who I had just bribed) around Thermon to Earthquake. Most lethal earthquake I've ever heard of.:skull:
Re: Why are my bribees dying.
IIRC this was implemented by CA to prevent the player bribing the best AI generals.
Re: Why are my bribees dying.
Yeah, it's a bug/hardcoded thing to as ninja says, prevent players to bribe good generals.
Does it also happen when you have less generals than provinces?

If so, would a decent guess be that this happens more frequently in EB due to the large amount of command stars AI generals get?

I've made the experience that only (Eleutheroi) gouvernors die, the generals/FMs in the field survive.
AI Client Rulers are considered FMs after you bribe them :dizzy2: , but for not long, as they die after you "hit the button". Happened to me in a Pontic campaign some time ago after I bribed the Makedonian C.R. in Mytilene, was the first and last time for me to do this.
