Interesting "new" family member names.
OK, so I was playing a fresh game as Sicily and my royal family was rather small. I got an offer to adopt a general, and I thought he had a rather interesting name: Tizrano da Vinci. I thought it would be cool to have a da Vinci in my family, so I accepted the offer. A couple of turns later, something funny happened. My new guy was presented a bride. And what was her first name? Yep, it was Leonarda:

I found that very amusing indeed! Do you have funny/interesting stories about names too? I would very much like to hear them, so feel free to share! ~

Cool :2thumbsup: I remember someone posting about a Scottish Captain Kirk. Random thought: Boondock Saints
(In your best Russian accent) "I am Ivan Checkov. You will be closing NOW."
(In your best Irish accent) "This here is McCoy... we find Spock and we got enough for an away team."

Re: Interesting "new" family member names.
I managed to get a "Captain Kirk" in my Scottish game. I can dig through the screenshots I took for it to find that pic if you'd like.

Re: Interesting "new" family member names.
I've had Captain Kirks as well.
BTW, Anonymous is that Emperor Heinrich in your family tree? High charm Princess?

Re: Interesting "new" family member names.
I just realised my French-Turkish diplomat was probably bribed away
a couple turns later my Byzantine family member evangelos turned green, and when I clicked on him he greeted me "Imshee Infidel!"
quite the change of heart, eh?

In the "Amusing Screenshots" thread, somebody had a screenshot of the pope excommunicating King "Jesus". :laugh4:

Re: Interesting "new" family member names.
Ja. I know. thats why i didn't wanted to post it.
my Jesus was actually a heretic/priest. so imagine that the messiah, after being harassed and nailed to death by the Jewish Orthodox in the east, arises from death to lead the faithful in the west.
and guess what? the Catholics decided to burn him for heresy anyway. :-)

Re: Interesting "new" family member names.
Dear All:
Good afternoon from the freezer known as Southwestern Ontario!! I'm adding my usual :2cents: .
Any time I played as the HRE, Heinrich was my Faction Leader. His full name is Heinrich the Chivalrous.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Faction Heir's name is Henry.
Live long and prosper, take care and thank you kindly!!!!
Sincerely yours always,
Indy.

Re: Interesting "new" family member names.
Yep I always remember seeing an Emperor Heinrich sitting in Bologna. I didn't even know you could bribe faction leaders with princesses.

Hello, there! :afro:
This is probably right. And also that his son is named Henry. But I don't understand why you ask this in this thread?
@ Caledonian Rhyfelwyr:
It's HRE's faction heir in my family-tree (as mentioned earlier) - NOT king Heinrich. But yes, you can marry your princess to another faction's king if he's unwed.

Ah... I didn't know you could bribe diplomats (never tried to bribe them)? And that they become a part of your faction rather than simply disappear?
It would have been cool to have a multicultural "army" of diplomats. :bounce:

Re: Interesting "new" family member names.
In the Britannia campaign, I lost William Wallace in a pitched, Pyrrhic castle defense battle against the Norwegians. I was greatly saddened. A few turns later, though, I get to adopt . . . William Wallace. One without the stylin' face paint of his namesake, but a Willy Wallace nonetheless.

Re: Interesting "new" family member names.
lol thats the way to get an invincible family :P

Re: Interesting "new" family member names.
Gents:
Merry Christmas from Canada!!! I Hope this finds you and yours well.
There's a couple of more points I'd like to add to this. For openers, yes, the HRE faction heir is named Henry.
Secondly, this little shocker--did any of guys know that King Arthur is NOW fighting for the French? Trust me, I saw the screenshot!!!!
Live long and prosper, take care and thank you kindly!!!
Sincerely yours always,
Indy.
