Do you ever have one of those days...?
...in which everyone seems to be turning against you but you don't know why? Well, today was one of those days for me. Everyone I met was grumpy. I never saw this happen before. I guess it'll subside as time goes by. I don't think it has anything to do with my looks because not only did it happen out there, it happened in an internet forum too (not this one).
Anyway, I had a bowl of soup thrown at me, I smell at the moment.
Re: Do you ever have one of those days...?
Comment removed. Like Adrian, I didn't think it was this serious. Apologies.

I read you, brother Shaka_Khan. It can get a lot worse, by the way, if the material world joins in the human gangbanging and your car breaks down, you leave stuff behind in a subway carriage, you spill coffee on your shirt or groin at work and when you finally work your way home it starts raining, nay pouring. And when you reach home there is a message on your machine that says your cat's driven over by a truck and you can collect the remains at the local vet's. That's when you open the fridge - to discover you ran out of beer.

1st: love your sig dude "styling and profiling"
2nd: Misery enjoys company, and while it might not be attractive or popular why not just match the "grumpiness" with good old fashion reciprication?
3rd: If someone threw a bowl of soup at you, dependant on where you are locale wise you might have recourse legally. (some people consider this assault, I consider it an invite)
4th: Matching people's action with an equal reaction will either garnish an escelation (a positive outcome IMHO) or a retraction (an equally positive outcome). See "2nd" as a reference but this lends more to the physical aspects of having the bowl of soup thrown at you.
5th: Im in a grumpy mood myself, so quit your confetching and moaning and suck it up pal. :wiseguy:
:medievalcheers:

Thanks people. The fact that you posted anything shows that you care.
I'm afraid to go out there. Who knows, maybe I'll get disowned by my parents next.

Is this a family thing mate? If your parents are throwing the soup at you well I dont have any great advice. If its just random people you either have to just take it, or deal with it.
If its the parents and your dependent well lay low I guess... :shame:
Re: Do you ever have one of those days...?
Ah, sometimes people aren't getting at you personally with their grumpiness, you just happened to be the nearest thing they can lash out at, I guess.
All I can say is when you make it into employment, avoid customer service roles, cos every week is made up of of five "of those days" strung end to end, then you end up working Saturdays too, cos of all the time lost to the grumpy :daisy:s who've been on your case all week....

Yes. And I'm anxious at what my dad will do after he wakes from his drunkenness tomorrow. And it's not just him either. His friends were there and doing the opposite of keeping him calm.

I feel bad for you. You're spending most of your time doing that. I can't imagine how much trouble would happen during those times. At least in college, students have a long break to recharge themselves.

You have my sympathy, I can relate. The drunks in my life were never abusive though just withdrawn and depressed. The old man only took the belt to me when I had it coming.
Sorry mate dont have any great advice for you.
Re: Do you ever have one of those days...?
Editing this because I just read the rest of the thread. I can't offer any great advice other than to stay out of his way, my dad was a pretty mean drunk but at least never physically abusive. Keep your head down, & keep out of his way when he's drunk & don't bother to argue or even answer back, it never gets you anywhere. Try talking to him when he's sober, (not hungover), anyway man take care.

How old are you, left the house when I was 16 turned out fine. Might even be able to help you, do that all the time.
Re: Do you ever have one of those days...?
I don't have anything to add, I just want to show that I care. ~;)

Sorry for my previous light-hearted answer, I didn't realise things were so bad at your end. Sounds like one of those lives, rather than one of those days.
Throwing soup at you in a drunken fit is bad enough, fllowing up on it the next day is a sign of serious trouble. If your Dad is really that way, maybe you should follow Fragony's lead. I have known people who did more than survive afterwards, they thrived.

This is probably banned under sub section 5.9.2 of the forum rules, but it may cheer you up, also it does provide a more interesting view of office life...Nothing's ever need be dull when you have access to a sledgehammer, & a printer :beam: http://www.yourdailymedia.com/media/...ce_Compilation
Re: Do you ever have one of those days...?
Well, I managed to sleep well because I locked my door and my window.
Thanks for caring m8s.
Leaving sounds like a good idea. If I do, I'll leave when the weather gets warmer.

I can see that a lot of the frustration builds up in the office.
It's funny how the other workers just stand and watch. Then they go back to work.
Re: Do you ever have one of those days...?
I recommend that you tell someone, if you haven't already. A close friend, a teacher, a good relative, etc. It's a lot easier to deal with bad things when you're not alone.
Re: Do you ever have one of those days...?
Hey, Shaka, sounds really rough on you - I think you've had the best advice already - keep your head down as long as you have to, and strike out on your own as soon as you can. Sure makes me thankful my old man wasn't a drinker.
And thanks for the vid, Prodigal, but how did you get the cameras in my office :laugh4: Seriously, I've only ever killed a mouse (or ten) for gross disobedience, not an entire PC :embarassed:
Re: Do you ever have one of those days...?
It can only get better.
The only way to go is up.
