I'm having this problem especially when loading up my latest saves.
The Red Band appears and then halfway through crashes to Desktop.
I have to go back to an old save.
Sounds like my latest saves are being Corrupted or something?
Be interested to know if just me or more people.

I had to abandon my first campaign (playing Italy) around 1250 because it got to the point where you would end the turn, resolve what happened, including fighting battles, then it would crash to desktop! Thought it had something to do with me invading Serbia, so didn't and managed to play a few more turns then same again.
Keep hold of those save games mate, you'll be able to carry on after you patch.
Still got them :-)
