Infantry formations
It seems like almost everybody positions there medium and heavy infantry in multiple lines when going into battle. I however have always positioned them in one long line. I have always felt that the advantage of preventing enemy flanking maneuvers outweighs any benefits from the more common formation. Does anyone else do the same thing or am I pretty much doing the wrong thing?

Re: Infantry formations
If it works for you, then it is hard to say that what you are doing is wrong.
The concern with having one line is that if the enemy punches through and routes a unit, the enemy can then roll up your line, routing units in turn. The advantage of multiple lines is that you can plug those wholes with reserves.
In regards to not begin flanked, you can always be flanked no matter how long your line is (except, I guess, if you extended it the entire length of the playable game field). It is better to have someone who can stop the flankers (i.e. a 2d line), than it is to ask the far left and right to fight both the infantry in front of them and the cavalry charging into their lines.
