Re: taxation in big cities
Larger settlements pay a larger proportion of your faction's outgoings. They make more money, but more of that money is being used to pay for army upkeep and the like.

Re: taxation in big cities
the payments for your army, your family members etc. is divided between your cities (see the city info tab).
in theory the spending is divided according to the city size, but this not always correct.
additionally the FM in your city can earn an additional amount of money through management.
perhaps this might "debalance" your view of the income.
simply see the city info tab.
Re: taxation in big cities
Check how much your big cities actually make in trading and taxes, and then check how much they spend in order to keep up your military forces. Compare that to your small villages. You will see why things look a little distorted.

Re: taxation in big cities
We have at least two female players: VT Marvin's girlfriend "Kari" and Pezhetairoi's girlfriend "Karielle", the latter even has a forum account. Unfortunately some inconsiderate forum members scared her away.
Re: taxation in big cities
didnt they do that in the EB tavern?
lol
Re: taxation in big cities
I don't think so. I've posted in there quite a lot and I don't remember anyone scaring her away!
Re: taxation in big cities
probably allready been said, but the smaller settlements pay less money towards upkeep due to the smaller population and therefore smaller responsibility, its a way of keeping things "fair" if you will
Re: taxation in big cities
I pay no attention to the "upkeep" since it isn't objective. Far better to look at the actual income for trade/taxes. I think the rating when the pop is medium is somewhere around 100 people per 1 mnai increase in taxes at very high. That gets inaccurate at huge level for some reason.
