McDonald's Fries after 10 weeks!?
Hi All !
I just watched this video on youtube and it was kind of disconcerting. Chk it out and WATCH it TILL THE END. What do you think ? Is that freaky or what ? It's normal for food to decompose but those fries are downright scary.

Ohh the link might be helpful: https://youtube.com/watch?v=G6qGKNwdeCQ

Re: McDonald's Fries after 10 weeks!?
I wish i had a faster internet connection so i could watch it now, but i get the basic premise of the video. Downright disturbing. Thankfully i've decided to stop going there after a particularly unpleasant experience of being surrounded by the dregs of society, while also thinking of what i read in Borat's book...

It was at this point i stopped eating, put down my 'food' and left.

It's Morgan Spurlock- what more need be said? I can't stand that guy.... :sweatdrop:

Re: McDonald's Fries after 10 weeks!?
Yes, that's from "Supersize me".
Spurlock demonstrates what happens to your body when you eat nothing but McDonalds menues. Not recommended.
Obviously the fries are either not made of potatoes or they're injected with enough chemicals to make them last for ever.
Enjoy your Happy meal.

Re: McDonald's Fries after 10 weeks!?
I upset my daughter-in-law when I said that I wouldn't feed MacDonalds to my dog. Why? Because I like my dog. :sweatdrop:
Walking into the kitchen her 3 kids (my grandkids) were 'tucking' into a happy meal. :laugh4:

That's from 'Supersize me', enjoyable movie.

Re: McDonald's Fries after 10 weeks!?
Ha. In our biology class the teacher put Supersize me and we watched it for 2entire classes. Since then, nobody eats McDonald's any more. :laugh4:

It's a bit cheap, nobody claims it's healthy, doesn't belong in class imho. You (or your teacher) might want to read this;

Re: McDonald's Fries after 10 weeks!?
McDonald's claims it is healthy, they've used the argument quite frequently. It's utter BS ofc. They are lying.
Don't get me wrong I pig out on McD's BigMacs or Quick Giants regularly but I know the truth about this company. I have seen the light MOFOS !!! The light was WHITE ! & it had COLON CANCER written all over it in fluorescent orange colors ! Anyway I'm now back in Europe and eating fast food quite frequently. Great way to eat ! Not.
IMO there's NO WAY those fries can last that long without going moldy unless there's some heavy duty preservative in there. A word on preservatives, those exilirs of life do not get broken down easily. They have actually fed some preservatives that are in our daily diet to animals like rats. After the rats died of natural causes they examined the bones, they found high levels of preservatives in THEIR BONES. LOL! Whenever I eat McD's I remember how my Dad used to say: Good work son! That stuff will preserve you like Tutankhamon !
It's important to teach kids what a normal healthy diet is. Wish someone taught me that in school.
Would have saved me a lot of dead cells ! leading to more powerful revelations of great videos on youchoob!
Supersize me is a great video btw, if anyone has not watched it, do! It's definetly worth watching.

Re: McDonald's Fries after 10 weeks!?
As far as I know they said 'nutricious' not 'healthy', no lie there calories galore. As for the fries, there is an entire chapter dedicated to them in the book I just mentioned, along with some other juicy mcFacts.

Re: McDonald's Fries after 10 weeks!?
Isn't it good when you can store them longer? ~D

Re: McDonald's Fries after 10 weeks!?
They aren't potato at all. They're pure starch. And for the record, the fish sandwich is my favorite item on the McDonald's menu, because it tastes the most like real food.
Edit: that's not really a fair contest. Comparing a real burger and fries to the McDonald's equivalent is like comparing a real fish to one of those singing plastic fish.
-
Re: McDonald's Fries after 10 weeks!?
Somehow I doubt that it only applies to McD. The other major chain stores likely aren't much better, or do I err?

Their burgers are also made from beef.

I don't remember hearing their food ever being hyped as "healthy". And if I did, I wouldn't be so dumb as to believe them. Nutritional information is available at any store, on their website, or sometimes even on those crummy paper placemats your food is served on.
Spurlock is a total phony. He's like a Michael Moore who actually has some charisma. In "Supersize Me" he more than doubles his caloric intake, halves his exercise and *gasp* gains weight. OMG, I'm shocked.:laugh4:

Re: McDonald's Fries after 10 weeks!?
Well I got to the stage I was eating KFC/McDonalds/local chippie every night (+ all the sweets, Coke, crisps etc), did that for a few months and ended up unable to eat for a few weaks and kept IBS as a souvenir, made for a pleasant summer holiday.
There's no point in educating people on healthy eating, they'll either eat junk food in moderation which is OK or they'll learn the hard way, or die.
I hate that guy from the supersize me programmes, real original.:furious3:
Its misleading enemy, the warning signs are not being fat, I just turned completely skinny and pale (moreso than usual anyway).

In the film, he went to multiple locations to find nutritional information. Presuming you have seen it, perhaps you should watch it again to see what happened.

This reminds me of a time I was on a bus in the morning and heard a young pregnant girl talking to her friend. She had been eating so much junk food and fatty food that her stomach needed to be pumped and she needed medication or something along those lines to clear the fatty deposits inside her. When her friend replied with the obvious statement, 'so you'll eat more carefully now then?', to my disgust, the ignorant girl answered, 'no way, I'm not going to change the way I eat'. I can only fear for the quality of life her child will have. The NHS should refuse to treat her for the same problem again as well. Maybe then common sense will sink in.

It doesn't matter what he does in the film- he's a fraud. I can go right now to their website and find the nutritional information on any item on their menu. I've also seen it on their place mats. You don't watch an agenda pushing film for objective facts. Don't believe anything in it that you haven't verified for yourself.
I watched "Supersize Me" before. There were a few interesting tidbits in it, but overall it was a huge disappointment for me.

Re : McDonald's Fries after 10 weeks!?
I haven't seen the movie, but McDonalds nutritional information is readily available in all restaurants and on their website. Don't know about the entire world of course, but over here it is. You can find it right on the backside of your placemat. Nothing secretive about it. McDonalds even ran ads warning people not to eat too much fastfood.
Personally, I have never understood why McDonalds is so demonised. Big, succesful and American I guess? Bah.
I have no illusions about what uber-healthy food items like sushi and seaweed look like if you leave them for ten weeks.

Someone already tried the "you must work for McDonald's" charge. You must've missed it. ~:handball:
Yes, I'm serious. Hamburgers are made from beef. French fries are made from potatoes. And eating 6000 calories a day without exercising makes you fat. Does any of this surprise you?
-
Re: McDonald's Fries after 10 weeks!?
I'm more surprised how people get so many calories together, which reminds me I became slightly hungry about two hours ago.... :juggle2:

Re: McDonald's Fries after 10 weeks!?
Louis VI and Xiahou - in Europe you get the nutritional information on the back of the placemat, but i've noticed that over here in Australia, you get nothing. Just a blank sheet of paper.
Is it an EU law that they have to provide nutritional info on the placemats? Because i've been to numerous EU countries, and more out of need than want i've eaten McDonald's in them, and found they all had nutritional info.

I think it's only here in Europe. I haven't seen them in Canada or America either.
-
Re: McDonald's Fries after 10 weeks!?
In America it's quite certainly the law.
Edit: Also noticed last time I visited family in Australia, that they use 100% Australian beef in 'Mackers'. In the US, I think burgers are made of something like 64% grade d beef. Anyway, the OZ McDonald's burgers are still pure crap I wouldn't force feed my mortal enemy, but from country to country, there seems to be a big difference in McDonalds burgers make up. What do they use in Europe? (I was in Italy with my mom a couple months back, and on a train from Naples up to Rome, we sat in a car with a stout Belgian who was friendly and charming, but took a few jabs at my mom's silly American patriotism. My Mom, who could lose 15-20 lbs, said something, I forget what, and the Belgian fired back something about how Americans love their snacks every five minutes and can't appreciate a good meal. My Mom retorted, 'you look like you enjoy your McDonald's!' and gestured at his weight! [point at his huge stomach]. The fat man responded that McDonald's food was a disgusting American sin and wouldn't feed it to his dog! He then explained that Burger King was his selection for quick dining. [I'm a bit drunk while typing this, so it might not come out well, but trust me, it was very funny. Guess you had to be there)
Edit2: If you live in the US and have that BURGER CRAVE, just go to Fuddruckers or Fiveguys. At least it tastes like beef, no matter how awful it is for you. People who are appalled by McDonald's health value are as retarded as someone chain smoking who's surprised by lung cancer.
