Yeah, i was looking through it. Pity there isn't much more of ancient history there, mainly medieval as it seems to me...

The only real authority in that podcast is actually Vesta Sarkhosh-Curtis... She actually pawns the two other tools who probably skim-read Wikipedia or something; One of the putzes downplays the Parthian legacy with common misconceptions, only to be corrected by Vesta who emphasizes a rather accurate picture of a general Partho-Sassanian culture, and how the Sassanians could not exist without the Parthians.

Around 26-27 minutes when they speak of scarcity of native records... They kind of chicken out... :shrug:

There is a brief (Read: Very brief) mention of burned literature, but no context was given. There is a brief recap at 32:00-40:00, but again it's a pretty chicken-hearted atmosphere, and it's obvious that people are holding back. Given that it is a controversial subject, but the question on scarcity of native literati went basically unanswered.

In Our Time is a fantastic radio program in general.
