Re: EB soundtrack question
You also need to have the MP3s in question copied into your sounds/music folder. I have three different EB EDM files for when I feel like listening to a) Maplestory music, b) Queen and Guns 'n' Roses, and c) Classical Opera of the Nibelungen variety (yes, Ride of the Valkyries included)
Re: EB soundtrack question
Or just ALT-Tab and use Foobar or Winamp.
Re: EB soundtrack question
Offtop: my favorite music right now are "In the mood for love" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118694/ and "2046" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0212712/ soundtracks (I'm soundtrack addict BTW) but they are not quite what you'd expect to listen to when playing EB =)
On topic: it looks like descr_sound_music.txt is not the only file you need to mess with.
To switch roman and ptolemaioi soundtracks I've replaced strings:
culture roman
blablabla
culture egyptian
with strings:
; culture roman
culture egyptian
blablabla
; culture egyptian
culture roman
and...
I'm still listening to eastern_greek music in my ptolemaioi campaign, nothing changed
help me
MiniMe, El Melómano
Re: EB soundtrack question
If you switch the names around of the Eastern music[in the actual music folder with the mp3s] with the faction you want, does that work?
Re: EB soundtrack question
You only need to edit the EDM file. No namechanging of those in the folder should be needed. If I understand you correctly as wanting to play Eastern music in another faction, all you need to do is add the name of the Eastern music mp3s to the EDM under the factional culture you desire, and delete the current faction music if you so desire.

I wanted to listen to Roman music when playing my current Ptolemaioi campaign. And I'm sure that to "add the name of the music mp3s you want to listen to under the culture you want to play with" has the same effect as mine alterations described in previous post.
a+b=b+a or a*b=b*a
=)
