a crash I can't fix
I have tried everything I found in the "How to ask for help with a crash" but the neither the permanent or temporary fixes did anything.
After I click the "End Turn" button it works fine, goes through each faction, including the Romani until it reaches Carthage. What seems to happen then is that it jumps back to the Romani and then crashes.
I uploaded the savegame to AxiFile:

Re: a crash I can't fix
Thank you for your report. Have you checked for any settlements that are about to rebel? If there are any, reduce their population until they're happy again.
-
Re: a crash I can't fix
All my settlements are very happy to be part of my Empire.
The crash always happens during Carthage's turn. It either crashes when Carthage's icon comes or more often jumps back to the Romani icon when it reaches Carthage and crashes.

Re: a crash I can't fix
Any settlement. Not necessarily yours.
-
Re: a crash I can't fix
Three settlements are about to rebel:
Serdike (I had a spy next to it so I know it has 40%) - Epiros
Alexandreia-Echaate - Baktria
Gala-Alanna - Parthia
Also Persepolis has no garrison but doesn't seem to be rebelling.

Re: a crash I can't fix
Then, try to reduce their population (repeat each line 2-3 times if it keeps being red):
add_population Serdike -4000
add_population Alexandreia-Echaate -4000
add_population Gala-Alanna -4000

Re: a crash I can't fix
It still crashes. I used the code but could not get the settlements to calm down.
In Serdike I reduced the population to 400 and the public order would not go above 65%.
I used the code more than 3 times on the other two but the riot symbol was still there.
Gava-Alanna was just a town so I dont think it even had 4000 people.

Re: a crash I can't fix
Thanks for checking :2thumbsup:. I'll take a look at it sometime, but you will probably want to start a new campaign or reload an older save in the meantime.

Re: a crash I can't fix
Thank you for the help so far. I hope it's nothing too difficult to fix.
I've already started a new campaign with the Romani. I just hope this bug is something very very very rare.

Re: a crash I can't fix
Oh, I imagine it's hard to fix. Or rather, to find the cause of it. We don't have much in the way of debugging tools.

Re: a crash I can't fix
Hello there! I have the very same problem with my Ptolemaioi campaign, it crashes in summer 232 BC. Quite annoying. Here's the savegame:
http://files.filefront.com/Ptolemaio.../fileinfo.html
In my game it crashes during the roman moves. I believe this must be a mojor problem with the year related to the ptolemaioi.
-
Re: a crash I can't fix
Interesting. My game crashes with the same faction in the same year during more or less the same turn (in my case it goes to the Carthaginians and then jumps back to the Romani).
I didn't think the year and faction were so important in this case.
-
Re: a crash I can't fix
It's the only explanation, because after I tried other actions before "End Turn", the CTD still happened, but this time during makedonian moves. So whatever you do, it constantly crashes...and the only constant connection are the Ptolemaioi related to the year 232 BC.

Re: a crash I can't fix
At lest bovi's task is a little easier now. I think (and hope) that now he has less searching for the bug to do.
-
Re: a crash I can't fix
I don't see why these cases are identical at all, but thank you for your report, Darling. Next time please make your own thread, it makes it easier to track which cases are completed (whether with success or not) and which are yet to be looked at.

Re: a crash I can't fix
I don't know if this helps with finding the bug but I tried the game the new permanent fix. It still crashes during the Carthage turn.
