Mason's guild

Is this guild worth getting?
What it does: It makes stone buildings cheaper (in this city and later everywhere) and it gives happines bonus for this city.
But what buildings has "material stone"? Only walls (city&fort) and towers. And becose how dificult its get MG, you will likely have most of those buildt anyway.

So this guild seems to be realy weak one.

If you mod it to make it achievable, its actually a great money saver for upgrading settlements to higher levels and getting those towers.

I'm note sure why buildings like Huge cathedral are type wooden btw. It looks stony to me.

When i found that cathedral is not stone, i changed all "church"-es into stone (too lazy to think whether small should be wooden (esp. in russia)).

Mason's Guild is very worthwhile if you can get it early. Too bad it's so ridiculously hard to get in Vanilla versions.

Btw. is there any way how to allow to build multiple buildigs at once (like units).
One part of M2TW i hate is when I've plenty money but to fully build city, I need LOT of time.
(imo better would be limited by building cost than buildtime)

Oddly enough, i've actually been invited to join them. I still shudder today at the thought.

@Alpedar:

I don't know about making multiple buildings at once, but i'm pretty sure you could mod the build time of buildings down to 1 turn if you wanted to.

on the subject of guilds, could someone post up what each one does? i never know if its worth getting an explorer, thives or masons guild in particular, and id generally like to know what gets what, and i think other people would like to know too. cheers

There are two excellent guides about guilds in the guide section. Yhey were made by Nate and Daveybaby. You can look there for information.
