I am wondering, do mods tolerate the Victonia talk in their forums?
Just curious, as I think the game needs the orgahs in a certain part of the org, and I do not want to bring victonian threads in sites that mods dont want to.

I would say keep it to our forum. I don't want to intrude on anyone.

:gah2: Another tool of the communist Irish that want to undermine the future of Great Victonia!
.
Gah! The UFV is just trying to increase the tax money that goes to the mafia and insurance companies!
Moderators of other fora may disagree, but IMO the line should be that Victonia talk should be limited entirely to the Victonia sub-forum.
Not every member will understand what is going on without context, and there are certain political positions that are disagreeable outside that game context. For example, the Irish joke that Mouza refers to in this thread may well seem offensive to a member who does not visit the Backroom.
A certain latitude has been extended to the Victonia game. As with the org-wide rule on signatures, politics, even in a light-hearted learning environment, should stay very firmly in the Backroom.

Fair enough. When something intended for fun ceases to be funny and starts concerning people for whatever reason, it should be over.

Mouza, I don't think that there's any need to feel bad about your post. I was just using it to illustrate my point that outside the Victonia sub-forum, some of the political positions may not been seen as amusing.
In Victonia, the "Irish" are being used as an archetype for immigrant threats. This is just because of the fictional location of Victonia - it could have easily been the Manx, or the Scots - and one of our most celebrated anti-racist Irish members is a spokesman for the most anti-immigrant party. This is both amusing and educational, as designed.
But outside the Backroom, someone unfamiliar with the game may remember times when racism directed at people of Irish descent was a very real experience, and wonder why the Org condones such views. This would apply to many of the views expressed as part of the game, but not held in real life.
That's why I believe politics and Victonia should stay firmly in context, in the Backroom.

Nothing to make a fuss about. When concerns, or potential concerns arise, fun ends.YouI can't play a game feeling having to check and sniff around. The Victonia case is closed for me.
