What factions have you played as?

I felt a bit bad modding when M2TW when I hadn't actually played it very much (2 campaigns, Scotland and Venice). So, since then I've played through another 3 campaigns and am at turn 67 on my fourth.

Just wondering how much other people on these forums have actually played M2TW, not in terms of time but how many factions they have tried.

To count as having played a faction for this poll, I mean at least having completed a short campaign, or at least coming pretty close.

The campaigns I have done so far have all been long campaigns, in addition I played the full 226 turns as Scotland and achieved domination as Venice and Byzantium. Also played long campaigns as France and Sicily.

Ive conquered the world on VH/VH with:
Byzantine
England
France
Scicily
Denmark


Considering trying Portugal or Spain later this week.

So far I've done:
English short campaign
2 Russian long campaigns

I played for a long time with the Russians, but never came close to winning. I've now gone back to the English to do a long campaign. I played and beat their short campaign when I got the game when it came out. So far I'm doing much better with the English than I did the Russians.

I've played as the England, HRE, Spain, Venice, Egypt, Sicily, and Denmark. I've only finished a campaign as the English though:shame:

Played 1st as HRE ( 1 short, followed by 1 long, both finished)

Followed by (all long campaign):
Venice
Denmark (unfinished)
Milan
Sicily (unfinished)
England (current)

Played as all...Poland and Hungary may be the most fun...

I've played as:
England, France, Holy Roman Empire, The Turks, Egypt

But that doesn't necessarily mean I've passed it with them. :laugh4:

Only get to play once a week so have only tried:-

MTW2
England - comp short - on long atm
France - comp short
Moors - comp short
Byz - comp short
Russia - comp short

On retrofit atm, but will be back to LTC now it's on gold, really want to try broken crescent & long road (and stainless steel from what I've heard) but don't want to have lots of unfinished campaigns.

I don't know should i be proud or ashamed, but i DID NOT played and won long campains on VH/VH only with England, Portugal, Venice and Poland. With all the rest i have won unleased 2 times. I have played most of them on ver. 1.03. I had really big fun with Hungary and Denmark. And as you can possibly imagine, there is nothing to stop you steamroling with HRE. But most of all i like France (altough i a not french).

All.

My favs are HRE, Byz, Turk and England.

Long Campaign with England and France (also played with short campaign with them)
Short Campaign with Turks, Byzantines, Scotland and HRE...
I have tried others but never won the campaigns with them ..

As am I. Although I plan to do my next campaign as them, turn 85 as the Turks right now, having fun playing as them.

I have played and won long campaigns on VH/VH with all but Byzantium and Milan. I love infantry what can I say and those two dont have squat until late game.

My personal favorite was with Sicily taking a crusade to the middle east and taking Gaza off the bat quick teching to Normans and Spamming them like hot cakes took me maybe 12 turns to squash egypt and the turks :) Poor Mongols were so CONFUSED when they showed up expecting to shoot arrows into paper thin eastern armor :P

Finished vh with Danes and Scots have never played as a muslim faction

Wow, Scotland is in second place, nearly 2/3 of us have played as them.:2thumbsup:

Every faction besides the Moors, I have won the Long campaign or better.

With France, England, and the HRE I have captured all provinces.

With the Moors, I took Italy right away, and then realized the entire campaign would be far too easy due to Jihad ability and the 'big moat' protecting me from any serious incursions. Other than their awful troops and starting provinces, the Moors are among the strongest of the factions due to their ease in wiping out Italy and Spain.

Finished E/E short Campaign with England, playing scotland M/M long campaign now.

Played as England, Turks, France, Denmark, Scotland, Portugal, Poland, in that order. My favourites were probably the Turks and Portugal, I guess I have a soft spot for gunpowder units.

Got bored of France and Denmark before finishing, found them both a bit one-dimensional (Denmark=all heavy infantry, France=all heavy cavalry).

Just started Poland, it is my first Eastern European faction and my first campaign on VH/VH. So far, I'm loving those Polish Nobles, hating the machine-gun arrow towers.
