Small mafia game 'Guess what your role is' (aka 'role insanity') [Concluded]

Have a round on me, a toast to that Skitzo of JHT metagaming Visor and Robbie taking one for the team :D

This game was impossible for the mafia. Everyone and their goddamn mother was a cop or some sort of other power role. Role madness sucks.

Well BSmith was a grave digger and became cop at random out of 3 possible roles...
Skitzo was just extremely lucky :D

Sorta like in the right place, at the right time lol

And the skitzo happened to scan Visorslash, and the monkey kept clearing innocent names while we were busy killing jailkeepers and doctors. And who could forget the tracker watching me kill robbiecon? Or how I had an utterly useless ability?

The odds were heavily stacked against our favor. This game proves why I hate guilty/innocent cops so much. They suck all the fun out.

This game had multiple doctors, multiple roleblockers, multiple cops, etc. against what were essentially three basic mafia. How the hell were we supposed to win?

Right forgot the monkey clearing a lot XD
As for the tracker, with so few suspects left it was bound to happen...

Anyway yes I don't like scanning abilities much, I got Chaotix, albeit in two rounds, old school :D

Anyway, well-played. I applaud you for catching me in my web of lies.

The scan on Zaccino, though, that's just brutal. We had a chance, man! A real chance. We were gonna lose anyway, but I'd prefer we go out with a bang. Instead, you guys played it smart and tracked the obvious kill target. No suspense at all there...

Oh, and btw BSmith is the guilty one. Trust me. :wink:

It was an experimental game. It does not work exactly as predicted, partially due to Visor's bad luck at the night1.

Also, as an aftertought, night 0 was not needed - it mostly gave town more time to play with roles

I think the mafiosi getting random town roles, were put in a tough place, ok it makes for a great cover, but they lose all their "attack" power so to speak...

ANy discussion would be welcomed, both about game balance (poor, I will say), and about whole concept (is it worht to work on? rebalancing? changing? or just stupid and unnecessary?)

Yep, it was unlucky, but there was some moaning about the choice of target. I have spoken out against metagaming many times in the past, and it annoys me to be accused of it.

As for the day 2 wagon started on Zack, from what I remember you claimed to be one of two roles. I checked them and there seemed to be a discrepancy, one of them could only be used on alternate nights or something, why others piled on after me, I have no idea. As alluded to when I said I'd tell you the reason when the bandwagoners told me.
