just a question - why am i still a junior patron? there are junior members with fewer post than me....

So I have joined the forum yet I cannot reply to posts, or generally chatter about Shogun with anyone? Thats, erm, good... Limiting messages per day perhaps, but since I want to talk about Shogun I need to go to the Sword Dojo. Shame I cant reply in there.
While Im here: Does anyone else get garbled speech on the campaign map in Shogun? I think it could be my OS, which is XP, or my Sounblaster Live 5.1...?
