Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Do my eyes deceive me?? The Praetorians have an armour value of 10 (TEN)?! And the Antesignani, despite having "light" in the description, have an armour rating of 14?!?
This is madness! (ok, ok, j/k, but it's completely illogical, I think there's been a typo in the mod itself, Praetorians should be better than the Marian Evocata, not worse than them! I've changed the armour values for my game...).
-
Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Don't let the term 'light' fool you for the Antesignani. Their an elite unit and are practically gods on the battlefield. If it makes you feel better, the man per unit number is less that the Praetorians. I know you're probably thinking, "But the Praetorians are the Praetorians", and yes, they are, but they were never really deployed in battle consistently.
As for the Evocata, don't let individual values fool you. We have fudged armor and skill for our own purposes. The Praetorians do have a higher attack though.

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
there aren't the general's units, are they?
-
Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
The Antesignani or the Evocata? In either case, no. Although, the Evocata would historically have a tie to a specific general as that general granted them land to live on.

Some more recruitment maps:

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Okay, that entire-map-red Aursa Baexdzhyntae thing is freaky. I didn't know the Sauromatae could do that anywhere they went. It frightens me.

Some nomad units are not restricted by province.
So theoretically they are available everywhere but in fact You can recruit them only where You can build special nomad building ( and this are restricted by province ).
Its done like this because its more efficient RTW wise.
So You cant really get this unit everywhere.

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Good to see how this progresses. But you are sometimes doing recruitment maps for units which already have one, i.e. the Baktrioi Agemata, Artish Pada, etc... Just wanted to say that :laugh4:

Yes, I noticed that too, this is mainly an upload issue as I am going through the list in alphabetical order and some units have different internal names, so once in a while the order gets messed up a little and duplicates like that appear.

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
I love looking at those maps! I wish there was a way to get them really printed off as cards (back and front) and then available to folks. This project continues to wow me.
-
Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Just marvelous! This is still becoming better and better. Could I make a suggestion for the next recruitment cards? Thureophoroi and Thorakitai would be nice.

It's been a rainy day ... ~;)

They do look rather nice, even if I have to say so myself .
Though, unless someone has a huge wad of cash, I don't think it is feasible to get these printed off professionally on industry standard cardboard ... unless we start charging £2.99 for the rares that is ~;)

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Amazing! Now nearly every unit of EB is covered. Except for Thureophoroi and Thorakitai:laugh4:
-
Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Thank you very much, I had no idea where the many types of nobles for the Sauromatae were available and I didn't upgrade the High Kings' Courts too much thanks to your cards I knew what and where I was missing.
:2thumbsup: :2thumbsup: :2thumbsup:
And again thank you.

There you go. Note that both the units you requested have known recruitment issues, in particular the Thureophoroi which has about six different regions for different factions. This will be fixed in the next release.

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
great work as always arkatreide!
just a question, why there is not the pahlava faction symbol on the daha rog baexdzynt aefsad (skirmish cavalry) and the daha baexdzyntae (daha riders)?
keep it up!
EDIT:
im not sure in 0.81, but in 0.72/74 im sure i was able, as pahlava, to recruit the skuda fat aexdzintae, building a nomadic building in gava-alanna and in gava-saka at last, if i well remember.
Sorry if i havent understand somethink, could be the faction symbol only appear for the proper factional units...

Yes, they should have the icon. The Pahlava are unique in that they are partially nomad and partially settled, and where they share nomadic units they have a different MIC structure. The easiest would be to add the Pahlava icon to the steppe cards. Alternatively I could make own Eastern cards for Pahlava.
But either way it is a minor issue right now. Maybe after the next release I will come up with something more consistent.

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
May I request for all the Greek hippeis something-or-other recruitment zones? They haven't been included yet. Molosson Agema, Hippeis Tarantinoi, Hippeis Illyrioi, Hippeis Xystophoroi, Hippeis Thraikioi...
-
Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Hippeis Thraikioi have already been done, afaik. But you are right, a recruitment card of Hippeis Xystophoroi would be nice as, in my KH campaign I can't build them in the proper greek citiys. Perhaps they are only available in some colonys, but I have not expanded that far yet.
Only if Arkatriedes has time and the mood to do them, of course.

Is this what you are looking for? ~;)

The Greek cities in the south (Peloponnese) were too hilly and had virtually no pastures for horses, hence you won't find many quality cavalry units there.

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
A couple more Eastern units (Note I changed the underlying map a little to better show region borders)

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
What are the Kartvelebi Dashna-Mebrdzolebi?
EDIT: Nevermind they're the Georgian Swordsmen they have no faction icon though

They are a "regional MIC only" unit. No faction has them in their factional MIC.
Arkatreides, are you sure that you didn't put the recruitment zones of Pantodapoi Phalangitai and Machimoi Phalangiati together? Because, if not, EB has a recruitment issue with them, as Seleucids can't recruit Pantodapoi Phalangitai in Egypt.I remember you once said that you could recruit them there as Bactria. This project of yours really helps to find those issues:2thumbsup:

Yes, this is a known issue and will be fixed in the next release. Seleucids ought to be able to recruit them in Africa, but for some reason they don't. The red provinces you see on the map are those where Seleucid cannot recruit them but the other listed factions can.

AW: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Is that intentional that Nizag Gund can be recruited up there in the north?
Very nice work btw., really helpful!:2thumbsup:
