So Celtic shields and Germanic shoes. Belgae Spearmen then? Batacorii?
Damn you Moros :laugh4:
Then I'll say it's definitely Lugians (c'mon answer with Definitely. :juggle2:)
*Beeeep* :oQuote:
Almost to the 3/4 mark of units for the first release.
No almost 3/4 of the units for Gaza campaign are complete!? :O Can't wait.
And can we get more information on those Germanic or Germanic influenced spearmen? :P
As an sidenote: Will Gaza allow for multiplayer gameplay? (obviously with the limited units only in the Gaza campaign)
Nope, 3/4 for the first total release. I would like to say how many units comprise the first release, but I'm afraid I would release classified data... or would I?, I dunno.
Currently the unit department is advancing at a good pace, thanks to the efforts of Gustave, Huene, Tux and Jorge (It would go faster if we had an additional skinner to help Gustave, though), but what we are now really missing are good text writers and some key historians to help some factions that are currently lagging behind in development.
Gaza campaign =/= First release.
The first is a tutorial campaign. The latter is a full working mod with a full campaign map, but not with all the features,units,.. the final version will have.
Are there any updates/news on Gaza Campaign that we fans can know about?
*nearly inserts a tactless joke about Gaza*
srsly: just wait for it; if they're 3/4 the way done from a beta, then the Gaza campaign is near release. when that happens, we can al enjoy the wonerful sight of two great hellenistic armies fighting with each other.
afterall: who in his right mind releases the tutorial after the game itself?
They're 3/4 done with the most important of units. Units is not all that has to be done.
I think they still need to sort out some things about the campaign itself.
Then they'll polish the Gaza Campaign, then a beta, and then a more finished product (more units, descriptions, some bug fixes) will arrive.
The progress is great, but let's keep our patience. We'll need it. And the EB team will need it too, so they can work with time and love for their hobby and deliver yet again a fantastic job.
Well, we still have text to write, game mechanics to iron out, unit balancing, etc. We're getting there and we just want to keep you guys updated on what's happening. Due to our model bank we're making good progress with the handful of very talented unit artists that we have. Still, lots to do.
Yip, the positive side is if all the first release units are done, we won't stop creating units. So that might mean we will have more units in the first release.
New update on Twitter
I´m happy to see some of the work being done on the iberians, the one on the right i am curious as to what it may be, it seems like it is wearing some kind of cloak over the other clothes.Quote:
Alin, you're spoiling them! :)
I think they rather stay in the dark and don't have a clue about anything. They want to be surprised when they finally download the mod. I think they'd prefer us to stop tweeting and previewing really. I mean it's like telling them what they'll get for Christmas next year. That's no fun... is it?
Moros,your so full of ********.
EDITED :)
Right from now on I'll show kittens:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mNB_VG_shc
Poor little kitten, it was so cute...
Kittens are fun to watch! We need to show more kittens instead of units! Great idea Alin!
@Micko: Could you edit out that last word. Write ****** or something instead please, using these kind of words is against forum rules. Thank you.
And Tux u got a *** yellow card https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYfp...eature=related for being ..... ^^
EDITED
Thank Micko. ~:)
of course; but it still means that it will be soon (as in a couple months?), based on everything else said since. its IMO all the more reason to be patient; the closer it is, the more we have to control ourselves. no need to rush it.
and darn, that big cat was sure angry at the kitten for wearing the hat.
Indeed, bravo.~:)
And here's your bonus for guessing at least the faction, some pics of eb2's elite regional lugii unit:

Great work Tux!
Athanaric, look at the screenshots :p
Javelin and Spear.
Yay!:2thumbsup:
2 questions: Will the Lugians be in as faction (you said I got the faction right) or will they be just a regional unit?
And I noticed little shield symbols on 2 of the unit cards:book: Does that mean they'll have at least 2 stages of evolution?:juggle2:
Ah and I almost forgot to say that they look pretty awesome!
Nicely spotted Kuningaz, new EB faction is Lugians!
But yeah really nice units, also interesting as well being a mix of both Celts and Germanics from the looks of it.
They're just a regional unit recruitable by the Sweboz.
Yep it's an early and late unit, most units in eb2 will be like this. It's a nice way to add to the diversity and not get bored of the units as the game advances.Quote:

Yeah the only one who thought that the unit may be lugian, both here and on TWC. Sadly no, there are other factions which were more important than the Lugians for that timeframe. Which factions those are will be revealed in the future.
Any guesses?Quote:

i didn´t miss by much :X but you said you need writers ? i might be interested in making a litle creative writting to help out if you need it ^^ i had an idea for the scythians but i didn´t wrote it down but all i need is alot of sources about what you want me to write and i can compile a nice litle text that resumes the most important stuff while condesnsing it with a litle palacian/agorian debate for nice intros
Thanks :beam:Quote:

... and a new update:
Hmm, the head of the mythical beast on top looks almost exactly like that of a 6th century BC Griffon protome of the Greek 'orientalizing' style - but it seems more likely based on late Achaemenid Persian Art of the 4th Century BC, not to speak of later Hellenistic variants of this motive... ;)Quote:
Could that be possibly be an helmet for an 'Graeco-Persian' factional elite cavalry unit (Pontos, based on coin iconography...) ;)
Tux is falling short of his usually sneak peak standards, in my opinion:
Most of Tux' sneak peaks are as much a preview to me as they are to you. But this helmet here, I actually have an idea who it belongs to. That bodes ill, next thing I might even know what units are in the mod before Tux previews them!
Made some armour parts for the new horse model, next the leopard pelt and some hair styles for the horse.~Tux ...... Companion cavalry meaby ?
FInished the skins for some bearded guys in heavy armour - Gustave
Definitely not spartans.
However, they are maybe the famous Santa Claus shock troopers in Lorica Segmentata...

@Gustave: Hahahahahahahahahaha! Priceless...
Haha :laugh4:
Santa! Not you too....
:clown:
Gustave,...that's a really marvelous surrealistic masterpiece! :laugh4:
Text descriptions are an amazing part of EB. I learnt much more from just reading EB information than all the history channel viewing and history classes combined :laugh4:Quote:

Goddamn hippeis! Get a haircut and a job!
haha... awesome
hippeis or hippies? ;)
Lvcretivs, interesting guess on the helmet, but you're a bit off.
what is CUF ? thx
A kind of bitmap font used by M2TW/Kingdoms. Or: an EB 2 side project/tool that aims to allow modders to edit/generate CUF files for their mods.

Things have been quiet lately. Many of us are on vacation. A few previews are in the works and a limited implementation of CUF has begun.

wow, wow, wow... some really cool stuff just got shown on the inside!
42 is always the answer...
No. Cruel would be to release a preview video titled “EB II sneak peak at elite unit & battle video” containing a looped sample of the Spice Girls performing “If you wanna be my lover” played from a cassette. Moros may be working on it.
I hear he's editing in LARPing footage for some of the battle segments, too.
Elephantes Gaesatae FTW! Just make sure they are naked ;-)Quote:
Hunh, turns out that in the 1930s American scientists did an experiment where they injected an elephant with a massive overdose of LSD.
Nah, that most likely refers to Moros fabricating an EBII machinima - Libyan forest elephants dancing to Spice Girls tunes!Quote:

Are you guys sure the experiment with the elephant and the LSD dates from the '30s? I know of an experiment (overdosis LSD) with an elephant at 1962 (link). And as far as I know (and wikipedia seems to confirm my memory) LSD was hardly developed by the 1930s.
(On a sidenote: the US-army seems to have given LSD to some Vietnamsoldiers to improve their concentration. After some disastrous effects, the program was suddenly cancelled. At least that's what a history-student's paper told me. :D)
Yes LSD is certainly the last thing you would give to someone to improve their concentration.
The british army did tests on the drug in the 50's, here a little video of it.

The Arabia preview is progressing nicely. A Big thanks to Bobbin for making some nice 2D art to go with it. -Moros
Can't wait to see what Occultus sign belongs to Arabia... I have a feeling a new faction will be introduced in greater Arabia...
You better confirm that on the next preview...
Or else...
Or else what?
Exactly! :whip:
Awesome, new preview. I have been missing the previews. Its been a long time since the last one and I am so keen for the next one. Been getting all excited every time I sign in to check. I love the Saba, and going to be even better with some new systems I hope....not to mention possible new factions in the area (unlikely).
That is a wonderful picture, bravo EB team.Quote:
I can confirm that there will be new systems. ~
That new pic is great!
Only thing I see that needs updating is some unit cards. And I love the cards that are finished :D.
Ahhhh the units look so amazingl!
Also grealty looking forwards to the Arabian preview.
...the fact that they're Roman?Quote:

AND WHY IS THE UNIT NAME IN FULL CAPS IN THE DESCREPTION?
No need to shout, especially not when you are wrong to begin with. The font displays under and uppercase letters the same so you can't see.
I sincerely hope your talking about Tanja Dexters. She's my favourtie Belgian...Quote:
