That ain't true. Either you new here, or you pretendin to be.
Try explainin that underlined bit again.Quote:
Yesterday our dearly departed friend Big George voted for Claudia, and Fingers (the beloved creeper?) voted for Bugsy. It could be a coincidence, but it is likely that they were murdered because they voted for the Mafia. As it happens, Claudia voted for Bugsy, making her unlikely as scum. Therefore, Bugsy appears to be the most likely choice.
Vote: Bugsy
The part you underlined was what caught me as well; It goes by the assumption that "Claudia and Bugsy are mafioso", using it to prove "Claudia is not mafia". That is self-contradiction, logically speaking. It confused me more than anything else. I'd say Johnny is either cooking up a bogus case, or needs to elaborate and explain what he actually meant by it; the way it stands now, it doesn't make sense (to me at least). I'm not saying Johnny's bad (or incomplete) reasoning means he's scum, that's unlikely, but the people who decide to trust in such thin reasoning seem to be as people looking for an easy bandwawgon to jump onto.
Okay... The way I read Johnny's accusation of me, he first remarks that each of the two killers has his own modus operandi, or way of killing, and describes those. That, I can agree with. From this, he infers that a change in kill methods means that one of the mafia have been caught. I disagree with this; It might be that it's true, but it should not be taken for given. The mafia could (as far as we know) change one of the kill methods without having been reduced. They might even do this to plant distrust against one of us, post-mortem. That's what I'd do.
In the second paragraph, he notes the following voting pattern from the previous day:
Big George (now dead) votes for Claudia
Fingers (now dead) votes for Bugsy/Me
He postulates that the choice of killings have to do with the votes that Big George and Fingers cast on that day. This strikes me as improbable. Ignoring for a moment the obvious "I know because I am not mafia", I would like to say that even if the mafia should choose to leave leads like that (they almost have to, sooner or later), it would be ignorant to pick two people who had voted for you just now and not, say, a couple of phases ago. So that part of the theory is not too hot, in my book.
What rocks my boat, though, is when he goes on (under the assumption that his theory has at least some merit) to say that, due to Claudia's vote on me, it is unlikely that she is scum, because she would not vote for her partner. That is how I read his post. As you can see, that is oxymoronic; Claudia would only be less likely to vote for me were we both mafia, and then the argument "so Claudia is more innocent" is wrong.
Phew, what a wall of text.
That's Johnny's post. He might be misguided, or need to explain himself, or he might be scum, but I don't know how likely that is. What strikes me as odd is that Richie joins in on the vote, even touching upon the oxymoronic part of the argument; "That's not likely" is the best part of this post. :daisy: right it's not likely, it's a logical impossibility. And then he goes on to vote me for the lack of a better candidate. It might, again, be honest town wanting to build a (weak) case and put pressure, but it could also be an easy way to dish a "secure" vote out.
Claudia's vote is the worst, though. She's third on a bandwagon, and the only thing she says is that Johnny is making sense when he says that she's a mafia. But apparently that doesn't hurt the case on me in her eyes.
I want those three to speak up and defend their votes, soon. Preferably with more than the feeble pressure currently on them. So, apply that pressure, please.
Bugsy is making useful contribution to the game by analysis, we're running low on time, so despite this putting me third on a bandwagon, I will vote:Connie. Additionally, I'd appreciate any and all analysis the murdered care to give, now and for the rest of the game, since they're the only confirmed innocents.
You guys should forget that whole "third on the wagon" nonsense and vote for Frank.
:gbow:
I was going to say Johnny's reasoning doesn't really make sense too. The votes yesterday put the leading candidate over the top when a wagon on Claudia was catching up. Obviously they can't all be Mafia, there's not that many of them, but it seems like this could have been a close call.
Vote: Claudia
Happy to pressure again today.
No, Funny-smelling Frank! Funky Franky garbage face! I can't stand this any longer. Somebody please pay attention to me! Hello, pay attention to me! Look at me! I'm Anne, I'm Anne! Look at me, look at me, look at me!
:tongueg:
I still want Vinny deader'n disco, you hearin me Bugsy?
unvote, vote: Claudia
Bugsy's got a point there, doll. You look like the south end of a north-bound mule.
My beautiful Maria, God rest her lovin soul, would gut you like a fish for that insinneration.
You remind me of a babe I used to know at the all-girls boarding school. Slender hips, immaculately manicured little hands, short-trimmed hair style, and a strong hint of something fishy on her breath.
Wait.... it IS you. Sandy!? After all these years, you're still the same old girl in drag. Didn't they tell you, sweetie? It's not the clothes that make the man. I could spot your wiggly little butt with two blind eyes and half a gallon of gin in me.
This place is finally getting some atmosphere!
Now did someone mention "gin"?
What can I say? I have a ravenous appetite for all things girly. Incidentally, that's how I could spot you coming a mile away. I don't blame Bugsy for not being able to tell that I'm a girl, as I'm more of a man than he is. At the boarding school, they called me "Mann". Give me five minutes with Bugsy and I'll have him wearing my high heels too.
My dressing habits are not privy to discussion here!
Tally:
Johnny: Bugsy
Richie: Bugsy
Paulie: Anne
Sonny: Claudia
Salvatore: Vincent
Anne: Frank
Claudia: Bugsy
Angelo: Claudia
Bobby: Connie
Bertha: Connie
Bugsy: Claudia
Vincent: Connie
Nick: Claudia
I count four votes on Claudia, three on me and Connie each. The phase should end in roughly 25 minutes.
Way too many that didn't vote for my taste...
Vote:Richie
Johnny's reason for voting is bad. Really bad in fact. Richie never responded to my question though. He voted on someone else's bad case and that's worse than actually making a bad case.
Okay, I know I sound like a broken record, but the round is going to end an hour late or so. I'm behind on RL errands today.
vote:connie.I like tied up women.
In my opinion, Claudia is one of the worse lynch around because Christopher died the night after she voted for him, and last night Big George died after voting Claudia. I think the mafia wouldn't be so bold as to attract attention to one of their own this way. So far they probably were content to kill people who didn't vote for them, and who they didn't vote for.
unvote; vote :Bugsy
Making it a tie, I believe. You should reconsider Claudia based on my arguments.
Oh, I even prefer to lynch Connie, you know.
unvote; vote: Connie
