Similar results are found in samples of gas obtained from within the rectum. The gas released during a flatus event frequently has a foul odor which mainly results from low molecular weight fatty acids such as butyric acid (rancid butter smell) and reduced sulfur compounds such as hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg smell) and carbonyl sulfide that are the result of protein breakdown. The incidence of odoriferous compounds in flatus increases from herbivores, such as cattle, to omnivores to carnivorous species, such as cats. Flatulence odor can also occur when there is a number of bacteria and/or feces in the anus while being expelled. A small amount of solid or liquid fecal matter in fine particulate aerosol form may also be expelled, and included, along with flatulence.
This shows that DA was trying to tell us that his posts are one of the rarer breed, such as the breed of fart that contains methane. ie, his posts are flammable (can cause flame wars) and this occurs quite often: 100 times a week.

Re: Who the hell are you anyway? A compilation of Orgah summations.
Too inactive at the moment to warrant a profile, if this is even a thread for those who rarely if ever post in here.
Most of these 3800 posts were made before 2006. ~;)

Re: Who the hell are you anyway? A compilation of Orgah summations.
Exactly right. Most of my posts are the intellectual equivalent of a fart. (A phrase once used to described GAH by one of our most esteemed members.)

I feel vaguely forgotten, too.

Guess I'm narcissistic enough to actually care.

Don't worry. Count yourself amongst those of us who are regarded with such awe, and are held to be of such overwhelming stature that no-one feels capable of attempting the utterly impossible task of summing up our legendary contribution, particularly since there is only a mere paragraph of an inadequate language available to do justice.
Understand, as I do, our colleagues' natural timidity for this undertaking.

It wasn't sarcasm directed at you, but a feeble attempt to remind people that no-one has written about me either....

It wasn't ? But I found it pretty funny...

Re: Who the hell are you anyway? A compilation of Orgah summations.
How about this Watchman?
Watchman: A Senior Member, the honour no doubt bestowed for his historical knowledge and carefully thought analyses found in the Monastery. On his occasional visits to the Backroom, he demonstrates the same intellectual rigour in defense of progressive ideals and Pastafarianism but stamps on shoddy thoughts with a vigour that would make a conservative giggle.
Apologies if I've missed anything that you would want included. PM me and I can edit it before DA gets back from the Drunkards Thread.... :2thumbsup:

Re: Who the hell are you anyway? A compilation of Orgah summations.
Sasaki Kojiro: Mods the Shogun forums, meaning he is one of those lucky, lucky people who get the title of moderator without having to do more than pop in once a week to make sure everything's ok. Started the Babe Thread, for which we are all forever in his debt. Also a fearsome Arcade player, who held a hammerlock on the high scores before Zain and Faust came along.
-
Re: Who the hell are you anyway? A compilation of Orgah summations.
Yeah, I remember showing up at the arcade and seeing his name everywhere, but not anymore! :2thumbsup:

erm...to be fair, iirc soly started the babe thread. Sasaki started _a_ babe thread, precisely when and because soly had taken a leave from the org.
Just a nitpick for the sake of accuracy.
-
Re: Who the hell are you anyway? A compilation of Orgah summations.
I was aware of the original, however based on the fact that soly's thread is currently in obscurity I think more people are familiar with the current one.
Sasaki started the current Babe Thread which currently has a sticky in the Frontroom and tons of posts/views.

Re: Who the hell are you anyway? A compilation of Orgah summations.
Mithrandir: long-time moderator of the Main Hall and (recently) the Entrance Hall. Likes to spread confusion amongst forum staff and members alike. Extolls the virtues of camels.
The Wizard: Dutchman of Jewish background. Knowlegdable in history and previously member of the Europa Barbarorum project. Occasionaly visits the Mead Hall where he posts excellent stories (although he seldom gets round to finishing them).
Banquo's Ghost: originally known as Haruchai, he posted an excellent Cuman AAR in the Main Hall. Sadly, he seems to have abandoned M:TW for the Dark Side known as the Backroom.

Re: Who the hell are you anyway? A compilation of Orgah summations.
Thanks Ludens. Though you forgot that I'm a hillbilly evolutionist. :bounce:
BTW, I'll be back with another AAR soon - nearly got MTW XL running nicely on my MacBook Pro

Re: Who the hell are you anyway? A compilation of Orgah summations.
Updated. Up to about 85 or so now. Come on let's get it to over 100!
I can think of a few we are still missing... :2thumbsup:

I thought for sure that you would update yours with “farts 100 posts each week”. ~D

Two wives? Is that for real? What's that like?
Divinus Arma, you forgot to add the rest of the veterans of STW and MTW: Krasturak (otherwise known as RageKrast), Shin-GaiJin, AggonyDuck, AggonyBetou, Kansuke, HunkinElvis, Cha, Togakure, HiPlnzDrifta, R'as al Ghul, Sasaki Kojiro, Trajanus, Shambles, etc.

Well, I don't visit the backroom enough to know about political leanings or pet topics. Someone more knowledgable may add them.

===================================
Monk: a quiet member, but his posts are usually worth reading. Formerly AM of the Mead Hall, but recently promoted to full moderator of the Spartan and Monastry forums. Created the first Mead Hall Library. He also is an excellent story-teller.

Re: Who the hell are you anyway? A compilation of Orgah summations.
hmm... that's weird Duke John aint in there..
-
Re: Who the hell are you anyway? A compilation of Orgah summations.
Duke John: Legendary modder of Dutch descent. Famous for his excellent modeling in both MTW as in RTW, he has been known to do things with skins and models thought impossible before he proved the general public wrong -- again. Oh, he likes Hertog Jan beer, too.
Ludens: Widely acclaimed patron of the Mead Hall, this brave man took it upon himself to build up the complete library documenting every single story that has ever graced that forum. While he wasn't the first guy to propose a Mead Hall library (I believe that was Monk), he took that excellent idea and perfected it. Occasionally wanders bewilderedly into the Frontroom or elsewhere, making delightful posts on myriad subjects (last one I remember was on picking up girls).
Orda Khan: Safely said, the one-man vanguard of the Mongol cause. Want to know something about Mongol culture, state, society and, yes, army? This is the man to ask. Always ready for a good historical debate, his specialty is nomadic history, specifically archery and the Mongol Empire. Has a family member around (Jochi Khan), but that one hasn't visited in a long while.

Quite right. Thanks. Don't worry, I still write, but right now my writing skill is being well-spent on roleplay, namely on a forum related to NationStates.
BTW, is this also for inactive members? 'Cause, if so, this list is in dire need of the originator of GAH!, Vanya, and his equal, Krast! GAH, Rage rules supreme, GAH!
(And, for that matter, people like FearAMP, Louis de la Ferte St. Colombe (sp?), and all those other wonderful oldskool peeps)

Glad to hear it, although I sometimes miss your contributions.

It was due to a general staff-shuffle. ShadesWolf moved to the Entrance Hall and Monk (my co-AM) was promoted to moderator and took over Spartan and Monastery forums. I later swapped the Throne Room for the Ludus Magna with econ21.
Thank you for the biography. BTW, the Library was really Monk's creation. I updated and expanded it later, but the groundwork was his. Which reminds me, I completely failed to add Monk's main feat-of-arms to his biography. Shame on me :shame: .

I agree. Those two have to be added. I don't think there is a rule against adding ex MP-veterans either. Also, perhaps someone should add a description of Voigtkampf. I've tried to make one myself, but I don't think the result did him justice.

iirc The Black Ship started the original "babbiest babe ever is" thread. Or possibly Ronin...I can't really remember.
The current one is approaching double the size...we have more members now ~D
