Re: AW: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Arka, you are wonderful. :) Sorry to be the voice of cold hard reality, but now that you've changed the underlying borders of the provinces, doesn't that mean you'd have to add outlines for all of those that you've already done, too? Quite a bit of work, eek.

Indeed, but with the power of macros this is much faster the second time round. Most of the old ones have already been redone. After looking at the difference in clarity between the two versions I am glad I redid them, the old ones often looked a bit washed out and blurry and it was often difficult to tell where one province ended and the other started.

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
These are mostly repeats, but for easy reference and with the new map template ... ALL the Eastern/Nomad/Steppe units in alphabetic order!

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Arky is teh bombsor!! :2thumbsup:
You should post some of this in a thread over at TWC too - you'd lure in some more folks I bet. Plus I'll freely give you rep for posting such awesomeness over there.

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Incredible! But these are lacking Hoplitai Hellenikon and Nakhararakan Aspet, as far as I see. But otherwise it is impressing how much effort is put into this!:2thumbsup:

Aye, the Hoplitai Hellenikon is indeed missing ... my bad :embarassed:
The Nakhararakan Aspet is missing on purpose, for the very simple reason that it's recruitment region is FUBAR, in fact if you manage to recruit it (legimtimately) in one of your games, you can cover me in chocolate and call me Sheila! :laugh4:

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Ah, ok. But what is FUBAR standing for? Some kind of WoW-Acronym?:laugh4:

Google is your friend ~;)
It actually has its origins in the military, but interestingly enough it is also used in maths/physics as an imaginary unit.
-
Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
FUBAR is german for "Fucked up beyond all recognition"
Cheers!
-
Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Actually, it is an *acronym* for that.

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Mr Arkatreides.
This is a wonderful piece of work. Now I know what units I can get where at a glance. However, I have a number of versions and am getting them mixed up. Are you able to name the pictures and do it with a date, such as 20070602a, for example, or better, have them posted on a website with the latest versions?

The first and third posts of this thread always have the most up-to-date cards.

ALL HELLENIC UNITS IN ALPHABETIC ORDER
-
Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Nothing majorly new here, but I thought it would be useful to merge the unit cards that are in common for both Western and Eastern Greek.

Amazing work.
I am looking forward to the generals - often the prettiest unit in an army.

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
I just saw that your hellenic recruitment cards are lacking Galatikoi Kleruchoi.
-
Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Amazing job I just discovered, since I try this mod for the first time after years of playing RTR.
Thank you very much for this !
Are you thinking of releasing all these jpg into one single .zip file?
-
Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Yes, these will eventually be uploaded in a zipped archive.
Just an update - This project is still going strong, but there will be no new updates until the next version of EB is released. The main reason is that quite a few things have changed as far as units are concerned (but my lips are sealed) and pretty much every card has to be changed for the next version. Keeping two sets of cards up to date is too much work and therefore all the new cards are being done "behind the scenes" so to speak. Hopefully as soon the next EB version is released, the new set of cards will be ready.

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
It's the conversion to the higher numerical unit stat system, isn't it? This will require lots of changes to the unit cards.
-
Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Higher numerical unit stat sytsem? Now I'm curios:book: What is that?
-
Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Instead of having 4 attack and 10 defense, units will have 20 attack and 40 defense. This way, the +1 bonuse you get from experience or weapon upgrades will have less effect. I don't think this project will be ready for the next release, though. The whole process needs tons of work and reblancing.

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
lol thats some bad math work there MAA, 4x4=16 10x4=40 so im guessing you were being sarcastic....?
:laugh4:
or are you serious.....? :inquisitive:
-
Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
I'm alluding to the fact that direct correlative stats will not balance like you would think they should. If you just go through and make every stat 5x as big, the whole system will become completely unbalanced.
(That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :shame: )

We don't know the exact formula, but according to Puzz3D it is alike the M:TW formula. You can find the details here.
