Why did we just lose?
We got 6 people alive, 1 dies tonight leaves 5 alive and 1 of them mafia. We just have to lynch the right guy next day phase.
I would say that I am has innocent has you. I am always a townie. I try to be active so I am not a lurker. I am innocent and be more then willing to be investigated.Quote:

I am always a townie and the 4th one alive but FH always has some role in the mafia games I have been involved in.Quote:
The good news is we got 3 confirmed townies alive still: Tiberius, Omanes and BSR. Well and myself but I haven't been investigated.
PM someone to vote a certain way and then accuse them is .... how to you put it.... scummy.:shame:
My bad miscounted
sapi woke - earlier than usual - and walked downstairs. Checking the fireplace, he was surprised to see that there was no stocking waiting for him. Ah well.

Town Victory!
Kommodus was the sole mafia. He was also santa, and if it's any consolation, I didn't manage to crack the codes either :laugh4:
Everyone else was a townie; thanks to all for playing ~:)
What?
but still I named mafioso :laugh4:
btw, how scummy am I now?
thanks for hosting sapi
Heh so I guess I wasn't wrong in having him lynched?
Btw, how was he both Santa and Mafia and what were the stockings and code for then?
Great game sapi!
He tryed to confuse us with this, I think he succeed :wall:
btw, victory counts only if you alive, or not?
Yahoo another for the Townies!! I guess it shows how much I had figured out!:embarassed: Thanks for hosting sapi.

Can we lynch NN next?
Great game sapi, so thanks for hosting
I apologize for not being especially active throughout this game's duration. The different voting system overwhelmed me a little, so I felt that watching would be slightly easier than participating.
I made him both to counterbalance the fact that there was only one mafia (having two, as was rightly pointed out several times, would allow an automatic victory if they both gave 3 presents to each other).Quote:

The only parameters I gave him in that regard was that he was supposed to present 'investigation results' in a Christmas-y method that didn't make them immediately clear to the town. He may have overachieved with the second part :beam: (candy cane = innocent, coal = guilty if you were wondering)
Nah, it's still a minor victory for dead townies ~:)Quote:

If you wish :grin2:Quote:

That would be considered a political assasination now the game is over.:laugh4:
Good game,
Well played Mr. Kommodus
Sorry Charge
Good game, town! Ya guys got me good.
Poor strategy and a lack of good suspects doomed me in the end. I was planning to put off revealing the code as long as possible, and I didn't think I would be lynched that last round, so I ended up putting it off for too long. :shame:
I felt that if I revealed myself to be Santa but wasn't killed, everyone would know I was guilty and lynch me. So I didn't want to do it until very near the end. I also thought that giving away the code would make my identity obvious - another mistaken assumption of mine!
I also didn't know the code would be so hard to crack. Originally I thought of using a simplistic keyboard cipher (simply replacing each letter in the name with the character above it on the keyboard) - but then I thought "Nah, they'll get that in minutes." So I added the following complications:
1. Only use first six letters of name.
2. Split results into two 3-character sections.
3. Reverse the whole thing.
Apparently that made it way too uncrackable; I'd say the simplistic keyboard cipher probably would've been more than difficult enough.
Leaving the last round's lynching to chance doomed this mediocre mafioso. Great game - especially you, Factionheir! You made the right choice and closed the book on this  :santa:!
Nice twist.
GG.
I think you were right to include this one. If you hadn't the code would have been cracked very quickly indeed. After a couple of codes, it would become clear that code length corresponds to name length, and then decoding would become easier.Quote:
1. Only use first six letters of name.
Say you used only the keyboard cipher:
Given one code of length (for example) 6: Ichigo -> 8dy8r9
We know that the first and fourth letters must be the same, and it's a 6 letter name. It can only be ichigo, so we know the letters i,c,h,g and o.
Next code: rqd589hy384 = _ _ c _ i o _ h _ i _
This is can only be Factionheir, so we now know all the letters in his name, etc.
On the other hand, a limit of 6 letters does make it much more difficult, perhaps too difficult. I can't imagine I would have got it, even without the letters in reverse and it being split into two groups of three (though this was very confusing btw, it really made me think that the letters were grouped. I was trying to see if each 3 letter group represented one letter, and the pair would give initials corresponding to usernames :dizzy:).
Besides, you wanted people to crack the code, so on relection maybe the 6 letter limit was a bad idea.
Now everyone knows why I was shocked about that guilty result on me
Well played Kommo and thanks sapi, it was a very enjoyable game.
