i guess i owe you guys several updates. the next one is pretty large- even a battle!
Chapter 50- The Capture of Ak-Ink
In the fall of 201, Tarsa, even after catching a mysterious illness, gathered the council for a war meeting.
“The Romani have strengthened their garrison in Ak-Ink. In addition, they have brought in two half-strength armies that camp besides it.”
“And what shall we do about it?” asked Antyros per Aedava, the heir to the throne.
“I think we shall send my army to coax the two half-armies out into the open, where we can defeat them, then take out the large garrison of Ak-Ink.”
“Whatever the plan is, it will be a tough nut to crack.”

In the winter of 201, after a long battle with an illness, Tarsa per Drobeta died.
He was the last member of the Drobeta family line.
While he did not reign long, his time in power was marked by his spectacular victory against the Romani in the northern part of the province of Sarmiszegethusa.

He was succeeded by Antyros per Aedava.
Antyros was not a war faring ruler. He loved peace, and pursued it. But he also knew when it was time for war.
In the year 200, we found something shocking:
Apparently, the Romani sent most of their garrison and armies in an effort to take Eburonum.
They were thoroughly trounced.
We moved in.

We had a major advantage. We attacked before they could retrain even a single unit.

As usual, our horse archers let loose with terrifying volleys, which decimated numerous Romani units.

Our Galatians, Thraikians and Scordiscis charged the bridge, and smashed through the small unit of Romani militia that stood in their way.
Soon they were set upon by masses of Romani cavalry, including general bodyguards and Celtic traitors.

After we defeated the cavalry, we set after the infantry. Our horse archers helped.

There were some very difficult battles, against their elites and even against our brothers, who turned to the other side for gold.

After we routed them and sent off some light cavalry to cut down the enemy infantry, the Romani generals, three of them, turned and charged at us, apparently wanting to die as heroes.
They got what they wished, but we doubt they died as heroes.

It was a decisive victory, and won easily. Too easily.

Ak-Ink was ours.

The Romani sued for peace.
We granted it to them.

Now we could concentrate on our final conquest…. the one that will give Antyros per Aedava the right to be Pavel-Ter— Byzantium.
