Well I think we (Germany) are pretty much champions. But hey I thought that after the game against Poland as well, and I also thought that after the game against Argentina at the last World Cup 2006. :grin:

Turkey will try to make life hard for the Germans, but I seriously cannot see them getting through to the final with their current available squad.

And Turkey through on penalties. Turkey has charmed me. I don't really see them winning now, but I just don't like German football, so let's hope Turkey wins anyway.

Russia has something to make up against the Spanish.
I hope Russia starts finishing their attacks better. They could have won every game after their starting match by atleast an 8goal difference had they been more efficient in front of goal.

I'm speechless, extrordinary match. coupled with the TV signals just added more drama to the match.

This result is why I hate football at times. But the game itself is why it's so compelling.
We won't forget referees drawing out yellow cards of punishment on Turkish players to get them suspended where Busacca couldn't dare anything. Neither the Swiss assisstant referee who was so disappointed that he couldn't signal Semih's 2-2 equaliser. So will we remember Busacca who was able to draw yellow cards easily at Semih while Lahm would have been sent of in the very first half if treated equally.
Only that much with idiotic suspensions, injuries and a pile of costly individual mistakes.

Excellent match, plenty of drama, two keepers both had a howler, you wander wether Lehman will keep his place in the final.
Credit to the Turks, they deserved to go through. But their journey ends here.
Considering the final score and that most of Turkey's main team was missing, I wonder what it would have been like if both teams had their tops in play. On the other hand, would their standard team have been much better than their B team that played rather well tonight (except for having a horrid shot to goal ratio)?
Probably 3:3 or 2:2 and then some interesting game in extra time with a chance of penalties.

I'm still proud of this team playing so positively except for the match against Portugal. After Greek defense (which I still admire) making it to the top 4 years ago, we have proved that attacking counts indeed. It's the best way you can defend.

Sometimes all the luck in the world isn't enough, and sometimes it is. Germany deserved a penalty in the first half (IMHO), and Lahm's goal made up for that.

Both nations are tournament bottlers, their last win dating back to the prehistory. But they can't both bottle it. So I'll go by the reasoning that in this tournament, as soon as a team wows the world and everybody thinks they'll go all the way, they are sent packing.
