I'd like to brag about my amazing skills of prognostication. 5 out of 7 predictions came true!

Nabataea will make a move for Meroe.
The Bosporan Kingdom will make a move for Getae.
Rome will take Massalia. {{I misidentified the province of Liguria as Massalia, but it was actually the region I meant}}
Pergamon and Pontus will finally do something, possibly both of them invading Galatia at the same time, producing crazy results. {{I really can't believe this one happened so precisely}}
The Suebi will fail another invasion. :laugh4: Just kidding, Beskar. I hope you succeed.
Carthage will continue to do nothing.
The Seleucid Empire will come to a timely end. :rifle:
Interesting developments in Greece and Judea. Goes to show just how little the Greeks can be trusted. I wonder how the Aetolian League will handle being surrounded by the Greek League. They may be the next Macedonia.
Also, Jolt, I noticed there was no mention of my naval raid on the Euphrates. Perhaps it was just considered of relative unimportance in the interest of saving time, but I do hope it was successful.

All other naval raids have been mentioned...

Yes, your predictions were amazingly correct. :)
Oops, I forgot to write about it. I just updated the post. Your navy was defeated by the Seleucid navy. :P

Re: Rome: Total War Forum Game Version I
Plop. Thanks anyway Jolt. :)
LocalGod, what faction do you think you'll pick up now? The Illyrians and Nabataeans look like the most interesting to me.
Speaking of the Nabataeans, I noticed that there's still just a single Nabataean faction listed, though their domain on the map seems to indicate two. So I'm curious if Jolt might share some aspects of how civil wars work. I assume the two different sides will make decisions as if they were two different factions, and whenever one loses all its military, they take control of all the provinces in question?

I can roleplay that he sent the assassin on the year 251 and we invaded them in 252 because of that :tongue:
Also, as long as there is no conflict between us, the Aetolian league and the Hellenic league will not have any more greek deaths.

Re: Rome: Total War Forum Game Version I
seeing this map:
1) The Hellenic League saying they'll have peaceful time with Aetolian League, and as there is no Makedonia and Epeiros to check the balance in Hellas proper, I think the Spartan minds will soon take over and invade Aetolia anyway, we all knew well about Spartan bloodlusts.
2) Opphelids Pharaoh (sucessor of Ptolemaioi) will have bad times with the revolt in Judea, looks like the Seleukeia will soon take advantage of the situation, and looking at several minor factions nearby, their possessions will attract more carrion birds.
3) Rome - Arvernii or Illyrian wars or both, will be almost inevitable sooner or later
4) Armenia will continue to either pressure Seleucids, or attack Cappadoceia. I hope the Cappadoceia-Armenia border is safe, or they should face severe consequences.
5) Numidia will raid Kart-Hadast regions, but there will be nothing spectacular in the rest of areas, maybe some Barbarian tribes will mount invasions to independent regions, but that's all

Why are my armies failing?! They aren't weak!
I am going to cry, Jolt lied when "50 men stand a decent chance" and I sent more with tons of cavalry too!

You barbarians aren't disciplined enough! You lack organization and logistics. Not to mention hygiene. And elephants. Elephants would help a lot.

They [barbarians] invented soap and ambush tactics.

The powers that be will have none of this reversion to primitive behavior.

Just thought it quite rude to defile Jolt's thread. Simple enough.

What, I can't make snippy remarks about pre-modern era water sanitation?

I would like to play... and since none of the remaining free factions have great chances of surviving I'll just go with Illyria and see what happens *eyes Double A*
also one question: How do I know what to name the provinces when I order an attack or anything?

You will get sandwiched between me, the romans and the getai. Most likely the romans, I have no wishes for a barbaroi land.

Re: Rome: Total War Forum Game Version I
As I said I don't give any of the open factions much hope for survival ;) so who cares, it's a game...

Good of you to join! :beam: Be warned that this game has been on delay for some time now. As far as identifying provinces, I would recommend going to www.europabarbarorum.com, click Features, then Map. Those regions closely correspond to this game's map. You can also just reference them based on their position relative to your own territories. For instance: "I invade the region northwest of my northern province."
