Should we select a new Sergeant and Lieutenant? When Renata and Stildawn were sending in group orders I could apply those when people failed to send their own, I haven't seen Stildawn for a while and Renata seems to have lost interest.
I kinda have. Sorry. :(
Okay, I don't think Renata is alone on the cop side, and I seem to have lost a robber too. This game was only ever going to work with high participation and it's hard to get the interest back once it's gone. I pretty much assumed that a few mechanics would have been used more than they were, the detective informant ability for one. Informants would have given much more useful information the more money they got and they longer they were employed, with some randomisation. There was a $1000 a phase budget but only $100 here and there was used, I never really understood that. Skooma's role should have been more useful, one of the game mechanics was two dice were rolled for each player to determine their "luck" that night, Skooma was incredibly unlucky, I considered rerolling once or twice... I also expected the robbers to work together more than they did, most of the jobs they planned were solo. I'll make a lot less assumptions for any future games.
Anyway, the basic plan for the game was after a few phases a new player would have joined as the missing mafia don from the newspaper reports, giving the robbers a massive cash boost and a new objective, take over or eliminate the cops. I actually did get Winston Hughes to take this role after he was arrested, but it was clearly too late. The other robbers were Twilightblade and Diamondeye.
Thanks to everyone for taking part, sorry it didn't work out. I have three games of this type planned, this was probably the most complex, so not really the best to try first. I'll be opening sign ups for Crusader Kings soon, check the Gah thread if you are interested.
Oh, well, it was just fun while it lasted. :) Sorry it didn't go better. It would have been good if each team had some way to privately communicate without having to use PMs, so that everyone could be on the same page. I'm not sure exactly what Quick Topics are, but I get the impression they are designed just for this purpose. Was there one that I didn't know about?
I'm curious to know more about this game design, if you have the chance to explain it, JHT. It looked like there was a lot going on that I was not aware of.
Plz spill the beans!
Thanks for hosting JHT. Even though it didn't seem I was a participating much, I had fun in this game, I just felt a bit lost that's all.
So I heard you need new tires for your cars, gentlemen? I know juuuust the place.
Bah! I was just getting into my new role as Keyser Soze.
Oh well, thanks for the game, jht.
@Seon - Did you get my letter? :beam:
@Winston Hughes: Nope.
