Yes, yes it would. How many times did I call for the invasion of Africa? It's "I TOLD YOU SO!!!" time. :laugh4:Quote:

Numerius is anchored off the coast of Debeltos and so far Carthage have not launched a seaborne invasion ~:)
Oh, and we've been granted a Roman II Field Army banner. Publius Laevinius is carrying it atm, and he is in a stack with Lucius Aemilius to the west of Thracian occupied Segestica. DDW, you'll be re-taking Segestica very shortly, so I guess its up to you where to create the Consular army. Right now we have lots of little battles to fight, but nothing really needing a consular army - yet! econ21 has to take Debeltos then Tricky Lady will take that last little Thracian settlement south of the Danube, then over to you ~:)

Be aware that Tricky Lady might not be ready to play lower house yet.
Gawd, still at work. No escape till 22:00 or so.
P.S. I think we lost Aquileia instead of Segestica ? Segestica is guarded by walls and a tribune.
Funny that you should mention that as I was just test-playing a couple of custom battles Romans vs Thracians in RTR, and the results were quite interesting. Whenever I gave the Thracians a numerical advantage and some of their better units (noble cavalry, bastarnae, falxmen, chosen swordsmen) I lost without even being close to a victory (odd were always around 700 men for me vs 1200 Thracians). When I levelled the odds I managed to get a few wins. All were bridge battles :grin2:
So yes, let's step down to the lower house for a while, now that my avatar is at the front. It would be tough for me should I lose a battle against those stupid Thracians. Mount Suribachi, I hope you won't put me in a too challenging situation :sweatdrop:
Welcome to the ditches :laugh4:
To make things worse, I was always defending in those bridge battles.
:grin2:
Spotters badge for DDW, as Big Ron would say ~:)Quote:

How come I was switched? Not sure I understand.Quote:

Ah, yes. All will be well in the morn.
Sorry, I did mean GeneralHankerchief - fixed the table.
Last day for a week now. I will be away from computers, electric and running water until the 30th.
I have removed the troublesome graphic card from my PC and will re-install the old card that was working. However, I won’t have a chance to actually activate this until I return. So, basically, I will be aiming to install everything after the 30th and hopefully transfer to the lower house at the start of September.
So, soon people, soon - oh and TrickyLady, don't worry, I haven't played ANY rome games for so long and even longer with a Roman faction that I'm sure to be even worse than you fear you will be! :laugh4:
No, seriously guys, I really need to practice before I transfer to the lower house :wall:
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
You're all posting too much, in quantity of posts and quantity in posts.
I can't keep uppppp
I want to ask people to stop publicly 'speculating' on the future.
As the AI has no chance against us on VH/M this eliminates it's own advantage, the element of suprise. As it works out, there is not much we can do to stop the currently known 'revelations', so no harm done, but it takes some of my fun out of the game, especially as consul. How can I make dreadful mistakes if I know what's going to happen ? Setbacks is what makes this game fun.
If I get a superstitious or religious avatar next time, I'll be sure to post visions that are invariably wrong. Horribly wrong.
Could always up the difficulty to vh/vh :sweatdrop:. :laugh4:
Well, we could.
Questions:
A) How do you remove and add traits? Are the inverted commas required in the command?
B) How do you change the difficulty?
Fair enough, but it doesn't take a brain surgeon to work out what the AI is going to do next. Who borders us and isn't at war with us yet? Iberia and Ptolomy, hmmmmm.............. :book:Quote:

Any word from Tricky_Lady? Looking at the date & time on the last savegame uploaded, the 48 hours clock is ticking. :sweatdrop: We should autoresolve if it expires - the Thracian front is much more lively than I thought; autoresolving will increase the tension (and no, I haven't tried it - no more seeing into the future from me, from now on, promise :shame: ).
A) I posted the commands somewhere in one of the OOC threads. It might be good if they were put in the FAQ.Quote:

A legion sized army led by an upper-house senator will land on Melite next season - I was planning on an auto-resolve anyway.
As for TL, I'm not going to be able to play in the next 24 hours anyway, so I wasn't going to be ruthless with the 48 hours thing. But if she/he (isn't Tricky Lady male?) hasn't fought the battles by the time I get back on my home PC, I will autoresolve.
If you are going to be delayed, there's no reason to be ruthless. A 24 hour period of grace would be fine.Quote:

Even if you are against this idea and go for the autoresolve, maybe we can some drama to the situation - the island under threat, we cannot wait, so must rush men ill-prepared to battle. Sort of like the British at Singapore in 1941.
I assume the Upper House general is Swordsmaster? Do you want to PM him and see if he can be persuaded to install the mod to fight the battle? He has taken part in PBMs before, so it's not inconceivable.
Its the one who's in Syracause I was going to send - can't remember who it was (at work, therefore no game). But yeah, whoever it is, its worth PM'ing them to see if they want to fight it. But if not, I'm not scared of autoresolve! After all, not every Roman general was a Scipio Africanus. For every Gauis Marius there was a Varro ~;)
OK, I've PMd Swordsmaster to see if he wants to step down into the Lower House.
I can see the point about autoresolving. I'm just thinking more from a role-playing point of view: we should be able to squeeze some juice from this situation. For example, Servius Aemilius (Lucjan) is the grandson of the First Consul. Maybe his granddad would pull some strings to get him to put on his manly gown early - even if it means delaying the expedition by a season? Or maybe he'd want to keep his grandson safe?
