GAH! :dizzy2: There's so much a person can miss out on being gone for three days!
Ready to be put back into the Lower House, btw. :2thumbsup:
Imagine three weeks, I feel like I have to discover this place all over again ! :sweatdrop:Quote:

I'd also like to request to be lowered a house , I find that being a backbencher in the senate doesn't quite suite my - fairly ambituous - character.
So, any future battles my character may get involved in can now be played out by me, if the senate wills it.
It seems I've missed quite a bunch these last three weeks I have a lot of extra reading to do by the looks of it...:dizzy2:
:balloon2:
OK - good to have two more Lower House generals again; we were seeming a little stretched!
It's good to see such enthousiasm !
Now I am wondering how I can recruit enough armies to satisfy all our new generals :laugh4:
Perhaps it is about time that Senators start lobbying for their own appointments. Of course, Augustus Verginius would never do such a thing... :eyebrows:
Hey, I already did. Check Motion 9.2. You guys are all behind the times. :grin:Quote:

I'm back also. Bring on the battles!
OK, I've redone the Table in the FAQ - broken it down into Lower, Upper and Inactive Senators. I've also dropped the "seniority" column.
Keep his grandson safe? And what, cottle him until he's 30 and still living with gran'dad before he sees a battle outside the colosseum, bah! *Starts putting up signs saying "Servius for general."
Some nice screenhsots of Medieval Total War 2 to pass the time.
I can't keep up. I think I should resign here. Sorry. Interesting though.
DA, if you look at the activity of about half the members you'll see that you're doing fine.
...and I suspect that soon-to-occur events in Mafia will free you up a little bit... shhh!
DA, sorry to see you go, but hope you can find a way to stay ~:)
Still no word from Tricky Lady, so I'm going to autoresolve this morning. Assuming no-one gets attacked over the end-of-turn, DDW should have control for the weekend.
Oh, and I Claudius was brilliant, full marks ~:) Quite funny seeing all kinds of British actors playing small roles - eg Don Brennan from Corro as one of the praetorians ~:) And the little things they got right, such as the king of the Britons with his spiky white hair, unlike the barbarians in Rome with their long, tangly stereotyped barbarian hair ~:(
You should read the book, also read Claudius the God. Pure Genius. I wish the BBC also filmed that. But they couldn't possibly afford the budget for the campaign in Britain and the crossing of the bay by Caligula. Too bad.
DDW, you have control
Well on the whole I'm surprised that there haven't been that much underground dealings in the senate, unless that is, the offered bribes were of sufficient amounts to keep the bribed silent...Quote:

No need to insult my intelligence DDW, get enough of that as it is !
:balloon2:
Well done, DDW, against the Thracian/Germans. I fought out the same battle, I think, in the test of the BI.exe that TinCow requested. I too was mortified when they virtually anhilated a unit in their opening javelin volley.
A shower of 600 javelins can ruin your whole day. The Germans have the best unit set in the game, except for the Romans. I was expecting it, so I invited them to throw them at the italian spearmen, but I couldn't help wincing when 70 of them perished in three seconds.
By the way, your battle is relegated to tomorrow afternoon as you are just out of reach and I'm to tired to play on. Still have to do the huge battle against Thrace first.
BTW, who had Sextus Antio, the diplomat? Cos I forgot to mention it, but he was bribed over to the Thracians. I'll put it in my report when I write it (probly tonight), but it would have made a good set-piece trial in absentia. As it is, I think we'll just have to assassinate him ~:)
Ignoramus used to have Sextus Antio but wisely switched to Secundus Salvidienus.

Only yesterday I found the time to send a quick PM to Mount Suribachi, but apparently he had already autoresolved my battles, which is good. :-) Anyway, my internet troubles haven't been solved yet, and as surfing (leave alone downloading stuff) is really not done at my work I will not be on the forums the next week. I will moved to another internet provider now (the previous one didn't give me any support at all, so it's "thank you and bye-bye"), but it'll take at least until September 4 before I'll be online again. Sorry to let you guys down; stupid that this should happen just now that I'm getting into the game. :wall:
Oh, and Mount S. my RL name is "Chantal". Should say enough. Still wonder why you thought I was male? :inquisitive:
Well, I knew there were at least a couple of members with female names who are actually male. I wasn't sure if you were one of them (must've been Just a Girl and Cataline).
Too bad you missed your battle Tricky_Lady, after all your doomsaying I was wondering if you'd pull off a heroic victory and suprise us all :2thumbsup:
Good luck with the IT-misery. They don't have XS4ALL in Belgium do they ? Otherwise, get that, they're the best IT provider by far. You can even call these guys and make an appointment to call you back and they actually do it ! Even on sunday ! On time ! In this day and age, that's amazing, I'll tell you.
In other news, my social life is doomed, as I purchased RTW:BI, MTW, and MTW:the Viking expansion (not to mention Galactic Civilizations II). I hope to have time to rip the cellofane in a couple of weeks time and try it out. Any suggestions about the best way of playing MTW ? Mods, patches and so on ?
I haven't played any MTW mods, although the game is good enough not to really need them (unlike, cough, RTW). You can handle expert, no doubt.Quote:

Then do the same with HRE. Also fun, but 10x as hard. The ultimate MTW campaign, in my opinion.
Try to stick out one of the campaigns for the Golden Horde. They are worth waiting for. (Or maybe do an early Polish campaign for that - the Poles are also hard).
After that, go for one of the Islamic factions, if only for their snazzy battle music.
Above all, do not kill the Pope if you are a Catholic! He's like Obi Wan Kenobi. If you strike him down, he will come back, only stronger than you can imagine. (Well, I confess, I did have a giggle when I dropped a catapult rock on his head.)
The VI campaign is ok too, but in a brutal, bar room brawl kind of way. I like the Northumbrians. Quivering in fear in the early game, watching the shores for the Vikings. A real tightrope. Ultimately, the unit mix in the VI is a little underwhelming though - the huscarls are really uber.
My personal favorite is Poland. Poland rules all, you can't deny it. Besides, if you do, you'll insult me and my heritage, and I'll be forced to kill you.
Oh! By the way.
Happy birthday DDW! :2thumbsup:
