I'd rather you didn't please. Some of the weapons are currently in the position of active players and I don't think they want their weapon list given away.

As soon at the forbidden zone was announced, you set to work preparing to leave.

Deciding to move to the southern part of the harbour, still free of danger, you have picked out the yacht you explored earlier as your new base of operations.

Transferring all your kit has taken several trips, but you are reluctant to abandon anything, even the magazine found on this very yacht. Soon you have transferred the remains of your alcoholic collection, your small stock of dry biscuits, remaining bread and water along with some of the tools found in the workshops.

On your last trip to the tug, you regretfully see that the radio is bolted down, and far too heavy to move anyway. You re-read the note that had brought you hope of escape, and replace it where you found it, under the radio. Perhaps a future player of this cursed "game" could use it better than you have.

With a last look at the Leaky Bucket, you shoulder Roadkill's gun and your harpoon gun, turning you back on the possibility of escape. The precious car keys, you keep in your pocket.

Soon you are walking eastwards, inland, to the Orchard, leaving the sparkling harbour behind.

The insects bighting you and the damp ground hardly make your hiding place comfortable, but these minor annoyances are the least of your worries. Lying prone is a stable position, but the pressure on your ribs and wounds is not welcome. The dressing you applied at the clinic has been oozing, and has crusted over. It seems your stitching must have failed on your journey at some point. Though you are trained in first aid, you're hardly a paramedic.

You try to carry your weight on your elbows. Wincing and gritting your teeth, you wait.

Ignoramus!:

You wake up from a deep sleep, feeling groggy and unsure of where you are or why. For some time you simply lie where you fell, face in the dirt, amongst your own filth.

You feel terrible, drained and weak. But memory soon comes flooding back; you remember the sunstroke, gulping down the stagnant and contaminated water. You remember the nausea, the induced vomiting then the nightmarish struggle to escape the forbidden zone. It occurs to you that somehow you are still alive!

You remember collapsing in the middle of the dirt track, having only just escaped. In the middle of the dirt track...

Suddenly conscious of how exposed you are, you have no difficulty remembering the dangers that lie all around. You struggle to your feet, reach for your M9 and look around you. Nobody. Only just believing your luck at having not been discovered in your vulnerable state, you look southwards - to the orchard.

It is a small orchard, with four neat sections of apple trees. It's edges are overgrown with long grass, but ladders are propped up against some of the trees to make picking easier. Lines of large fresh green and red eating apples seem to glow in the sunlight. Your empty stomach gives a rumble of desire.

You move slowly towards the idyllic sight. Walking is still an effort; you concentrate on not tripping over. Despite your pace, it isn't too long before you enter the orchard. A rusty tractor stands on the eastern side of the orchard. Long green grass and flaking rusty paint show that it has long been out of use.

One tree in particular seems particularly fruitful, its juicy blood red apples calling to you. The ladder at its foot is a step ladder. It seems stable enough and you are hungry enough to feel confident climbing despite your weakness. On the top step you reach and you hand closes around a ripe juicy apple.

The pain in your side is quickly forgotten as you see movement to the north. The sight of the man slowly entering the orchard takes you back for a moment. It's Ignoramus, the dead man! He seems to be stumbling, walking in a slow and unsteady way, and in a moment of madness you consider the possibility that you are seeing a zombie.

Recovering your senses, you notice that Ignoramus is clearly weak and struggling. He is also armed to the teeth; M9 in hand, grenades strapped around his chest, and what looks like a fully automatic pistol is rammed in his belt. However, the weapon that catches your eye is the Sniper rifle on his shoulder. The last time you saw that weapon, it saved your life in the hands of a friend. Now that friend is dead, and the weapon lies in the hands of your foe. You quietly vow to avenge AgonyDuck.

Ignoramus hasn't noticed you, concealed as you are. Levelling your aim, you wait to see if he will come closer.

Ignoramus:

You hear the shot and feel the sharp pain in the back of your neck almost simultaneously. Loosing your balance, the stepladder collapses and the apple falls from your hands. Time seems to slow, agony drives all thought from your mind as you fall, the ground rising to meet you. You only half hear the second shot. As you hit the ground, you loose consciousness, for the last time.

Your first shot, aimed at the head, misses slightly and impacts into Ignoramus' neck, who looses his balance and falls from his perch. You fire again, but miss as Ignoramus collapses. A shot to the neck will almost certainly have killed him, and sure enough, he does not stir from the base of the tree. AgonyDuck's blood has been paid for in blood.

You wait a minute, listening and watching for anyone in the vicinity. Deciding that the cost is clear, you struggle out from beneath the rusting disused tractor, trying not to disturb the long grass that made it such a good hiding place.

Examining the body, you make certain that Ignoramus has passed away. Satisfied, you search his body. Soon you find your arsenal transformed; from a single pistol and a medieval bow and arrows, you find yourself armed with two pistols, a machine pistol, a sniper rifle and 6 grenades. You also find a small handheld electronic device.

Stripping Ignoramus of his equipment you pull him against the trunk of the tree.

Concealing yourself once more in the space beneath the tractor, you ready the sniper rifle, now returned to its rightful owner. These are the kind of weapons you were trained to use, you a soldier not an archer! With the adrenaline draining from you, the pain in your side and back renews with vigour. You turn your attention to the strange device Ignoramus was carrying.


The display screen shows a map of the surrounding area. It shows a detail of the map you were issued with: 12 zones centred on orchard. In the Orchard a strong red dot, approximately at your location.

There seem to be no controls or interface with the gadget, only the display screen. Within minute of viewing this device, a second faint red dot appears on the western side of the map. You watch as the dot approaches, and as it does increases in brightness. Whatever this gadget is, it seems to indicate something coming this way, from the west.

Orb:

You pause and crouch, hearing two shots to the east. These kinds of shots are unnerving, and have been increasing in frequency. A few rounds ago, you heard three shots far to the east, yet nothing came of it. Thinking about it, you yourself caused gunfire in the harbour shooting at bottles.

Continuing cautiously, you move cross country through the undergrowth. The track leading from the harbour to the orchard went via the well, now a forbidden zone. Besides, you are better concealed in this terrain.

Soon you emerge on the western side of the orchard. Nothing seems to have changed since your last visit. The sun beats down on the small groups of apple trees, still laden with fruit. The tractor continues is slow decay, abandoned to the weather. Something strikes you as different about the tractor. The long grass that surrounds it seems to have been disturbed. As you look, the sun glints on something metallic beneath the chassis.

You try to react, but too late; a single sharp crack and a bullet pierces your skull. You are dead before you hit the ground.

Around the island a loudspeakers crackle into action.

"Hello Zentsuji Middle School Class E!" "Congratulations to Student Male # 6! You are the winner of this Battle Royale! Move into the open and stay where you are. Discard your weapons, or I shall detonate your collar!"

With a roar of engines and spinning blades, two helicopters rise gracefully from the school compound, one military and one civilian. The steel barbed gates are flung back and a column of two armoured cars and a military jeep, packed with soldiers, rev their engines and take to the main road.

The military helicopter heads east, setting a direct course for the orchard, but the civilian helicopter flies south. From within its cabin, ear protector clad reporters prepare and cameras roll.

"Yes ladies and gentlemen, the 142nd Battle Royale has ended, and we have a winner from Zentsuji Middle School in Org Province! It's been a particularly destructive Battle Royale ladies and gentlemen, proving without doubt the violent and dangerous nature of our younger generation."

"Admire how effectively the bomb shelter has been completely destroyed, how the General Store has been ransacked and how the Clinic..."

TinCow stood in the centre of the orchard, clutching his sniper rifle to his chest. The military helicopter hovered in the air above, its powerful spinning blades causing the leaves and grass to sway violently in the wind.

Down the northern track two armoured cars had blindly raced into the orchard, and now a dozen rifles were trained on his lonely figure. A film crew were capturing the entire episode for the State TV from the back of a jeep.

TinCow was disgusted by the lack of skill and thought these supposed professional soldiers had displayed. They had arrived in dribs and drabs, first the helicopter, which had made several passes before finally finding him, and then the armoured cars, swerving into the orchard seemingly without thinking about danger. Had he wanted to, he could have ambushed and destroyed that armoured column easily. The helicopter might have been a bit more challenging, but they seemed incompetent enough to crash into a tree if he had run into the woods.

"THROW DOWN YOUR WEAPON OR WE SHALL DETONATE YOUR COLLAR" boomed a loudspeaker from the preying helicopter.

The collar. The ultimate weapon. Supposedly, he had won this Battle Royale, but this felt like Check Mate at the hands of the government.

TinCow threw down his rifle, then un-holstered his pistol. He hesitated, his mind turning back to a promise he had made to himself.

This is my pistol. There are many like it but this one is mine. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me my pistol is useless. Without my pistol, I am useless. I must fire my pistol true. I must shoot straighter than the enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will.

"THROW DOWN YOUR WEAPON!" The voice sounded a touch impatient now, but TinCow wasn't listening, he had made his decision.

The reporter’s words are interrupted by the loud and unmistakable sound of gunfire. Five individual shots are heard, answered by a volley of machine gun fire. The shooting goes on for perhaps 15 seconds, then a dull explosion cuts through the noise and stops it dead.

I hope you all enjoyed this Battle Royale, it was a lot of work, but very enjoyable and if people would like, I'm willing to host another.

My write up will consist of all the descriptions I wrote for everybody (that's a lot of text), and will be coming soon. I'm sorry I don't really know what happened early in the game as I wasn't host at the start.

I also apologise for some mistakes that took place in the game. Marshal Murat started in the wrong place, which did affect the game, and Ignoramus burnt the clinic but I forgot and later allowed TinCow to use it. Sorry...

For anyone who was curious why my character ended like he did, I was part of a 3 man Special Forces team when the game began and our job was to storm the school and kill the head honcho, or something similar to that. Poor communications between the team members and some general bad luck led to me being on my own rather quickly.

Thanks to everyone who helped run this. It was my first 'complete' Gameroom game and I had a lot of fun. I'll definitely be back for the next game. Huge props to Myrddraal as well for his very well-written descriptions.

Yeah sorry Greaterkhaan, but you did loose it fairly quickly :grin:

I'd also like to say there were some fairly monumentous mistakes made by players in this game. Ignoramus should have won easily. I'm not going to say what his mistake was (I don't want everyone knowing all the tricks for next game) but I hope he realises it.

Ironically TinCow's team of three was a special forces team sent to stop the storming of the school. Their task was to hunt down those who had plans to storm the school. Inadvertantly of course TinCow succeeded. In the last paragraph, he is meant to have become dissalusioned with his task and the government, hence his end.

Ah, right, I knew it was something like that. Slow communications meant we ended up not getting orders in on time for the first turn, so we started at the school. We all had great stats, but had really poor equipment. I had a bow and arrows, and someone else had a full suit of plate armor and a broadsword! We grabbed the sniper rifle right off the bat, but that wasn't so great for close combat and it didn't help the other two people. We legged it out to the mountain, trying to find someone to kill for better weapons, but I got shot with a crossbow. The guy with the sniper rifle then went to clinic to try and get medicine to help me, but he never returned, so we lost our only decent weapon. The guy who stayed behind to protect me while I was near death then stopped responding to PMs. Someone stumbled upon us up there and my protector killed him, but died in the process. I got a pistol out of it, but was alone and very badly injured. So, all plans to do anything except survive went out the window.

Obviously these were two awesome weapons, more than making up for my so-so statistics. I decided that if I had the grenades/armor then I'd be invincible, so I set out on a quest for those two items, killing anyone on the way.

Complex orders are a pain, but I wanted things done right. I figured that the supply store would be a popular target, but I also banked on having the best weapons. As it turned out, I was right:

Now I was in luck. I killed two people, suffered no injuries to myself, and had a bomb! Ideally, it was to be planted stealthily and detonated later on in the game to maximum effect. I decided to put it in the bomb shelter, since nobody expects a bomb in the bomb shelter, right?

If there's anyone inside (the tracking device will tell me), fire a few rounds into it before climbing down. If I hit anyone (or if there's nobody in there), climb down (finishing the person off if necessary), plant the bomb somewhere, climb back out, and find a hiding spot where I have a clear view of the shelter. If I see anyone climb down into it, wait several seconds and press the "detonate" button.

If there's anyone inside but I don't hit them with the initial fire, don't bother entering. Instead, close the hatch and find a large heavy object to place on top of it so the person in there can't get back out. Head north, keeping off the road and watching the tracking device.

If there are two or more people in the shelter, don't bother opening the hatch, just find the heavy object to place over it and head north.

I have lost my Turn 2 reply PM but things did not go as planned. I encountered sapi in the bomb shelter and was forced to detonate early, causing that huge explosion and utterly runing the shelter. Three people killed in two turns - not too shabby.

The area seems infested with mosquitoes, but the smoke seems to keeping the air a little more clear of them now. Checking your tracking device regularly, you set about making yourself some food. You have some stale bread in your original pack, and some peanut butter, so you make yourself some sandwiches. You slap your neck as another mosquito tries to make a meal of you, and check the tracking device again.

Looking back, you notice that one of the many winged insects in the area is squirming in your peanut butter. Never mind, food is hard to come by here, you eat up the sandwich, and the extra protein too.

At this time you hear some faint shots to the North East which go on for some time. Looking that way you see a plume of grey smoke rising up from behind the mountain, and beyond that, rain clouds blowing in off the sea. Later, you hear a single faint shot, of a different kind, in the North.

Fiddling hopelessly with your collar, you check the tracking device and settle down to your sandwiches. Nobody comes your way.

Deciding to keep things moving, I told Myrddraal that I would head off to the church.

If no shots are fired, actually enter the church and blast away. In either case, I am to deliver a follow-up series of shots once I hit a target in case they have a bulletproof vest on. Once this is accomplished, take the ambush position by the busted door.

This is where things got dicey. I found my first real test at the church in the form of Dutch_guy, waiting for me with a minor arsenal of his own.

The school must be teaming with soldiers, but you're getting no reading, it only seems to detect those in the game.

The rain thickens, and you pick up the pace, whilst being careful to keep you gun as dry as possible. The clouds are darkening the sky and land, you see sheet lightning, and hear the distant roll of thunder.

You join a dirt track heading north east, from the main road towards the church. As you approach, your tracking device gives you a faint reading. As you get closer it gives you a second reading, further east. You slow, making your way carefully, eyes switching from tracker to your darkening and soaked surroundings.

Lightning strikes, leaving a bright purple after-image, then almost immediately thunder booms. You calm your nerves, and continue cautiously, you have nothing to fear whilst you hold the tracking device. The tracking device now indicates that the two players are very close, possibly in the church. Your suspicion is confirmed soon after, as two explosions thunder ahead. You pause, and listen. The explosions are followed by the dull thud of shotgun fire. About thirty seconds later, another explosion. One of the signals on your tracking device winks out. The church is just ahead now, offering sanctuary from the rain, but you know to be careful. You hear two shots in the distance to the east, but they are far away from you.

Cautiously you approach the door. The church is small, long and thin, and the tracking device seems to indicate that the other person should be at the other end of the aisle. You take a deep breath, check your gun, wipe the rain from the end of your nose and focus. It's time for action.

You heave your foot against one of the wooden double doors which flies back under the impact, and hurl a couple of rounds across the pews. You see your target, standing over a body at the end of the aisle, adjust your aim and squeeze the trigger. A cry of anger and pain echoes through the church, and the man stumbles and falls behind the stone altar. You fire another round to keep him pinned down, and kneel, keeping most of your body behind the doorframe.

A shotgun barrel swings around the side of the altar and pellets fly, mostly into the wall behind which you're hiding, but one plants itself in your arm, causing you to drop your weapon. You duck into cover as a second round of pellets fly through the door and into the rain. Hard on the heels of the pellets, a grenade bounces through doorway. You throw yourself to the floor, as the explosion lights up the rain. Shrapnel flies all around you, some striking you and you give out another yelp of pain. You’re bleeding fairly heavily, but you can worry about that later, two rounds fired means one empty shotgun.

Your bleeding arm hanging loose, you spin around the doorframe, snatching your gun with your left hand. Keeping a constant flow of bullets flying towards the altar, you run into the church and duck into a side chapel, just in time to avoid the return salvo of shotgun pellets. Pausing to catch your breath again, you glance at your tracking device and notice movement. Your opponent is moving, very slowly, out from behind his hiding place; he surely has his shotgun trained on the entrance to the side chapel. Thinking fast, you search around for some cover, but find none. In desperation, you seize a small statue of St. Sebastian and hurl it though the chapel entrance.

The shotgun rings once again through the church, and the statue shatters on the floor, pierced by the spray of pellets. You dive through the archway, Ingram blazing, rolling and stumbling to your feet; you fire at the foe, now gripping his useless, empty shotgun.

As he collapses, you recognise Dutch Guy. For good measure, you empty your clip into the corpse, he’s dead for sure. For the first time, you take a second to examine your surroundings. It’s a scene of carnage, the wooden pews are strewn about at odd angles, some of them cleanly snapped into two. Small flames lick around some of the drier wood. One of the small windows to the side is smashed and rain is being blown inside. The altar cloth is singed and lying to one side, next to another corpse.

Examining that corpse, at first you cannot believe that this can be a man. Covered in blood, it wears two skulls hanging loosely on his shoulders, hacked in half, presumably with the Axe he wears at his side. KillF3nzy seems to be wearing several layers of clothes. He’s coated from head to toe in blood, plenty from his own wounds for sure, but some of it looks older and clotted. Suddenly you understand the presence of the vomit at the entrance, as your stomach heaves at the sight.

Several minutes later, you've dragged Dutch Guy and the reeking corpse of KillFr3nzy outside, in an attempt to avoid the smell. The rain is thundering on the roof of the Church, with several leaks causing a quieter but constant dripping noise. Between the two of them Dutch Guy and KillFr3nzy had a shotgun, 4 remaining grenades, a bloody throwing axe, a sword with a bible inscription on its blade and a bible covered in bloody fingerprints.

Your tracking device gives another reading, not far to the north of the Church, and you prepare an ambush, but the signal fades, heading east.

You have plenty of food and water. You are injured in your right arm and side, but not too badly.

I had the grenades and a nice new shotgun. However, I also picked up a wound. Not realizing that other people were still functioning extremely well with punctured lungs (:laugh4:), I headed off to the clinic. Again, I was supremely confident that my weapons could nullify any potential ambushes. All that was left was the bulletproof vest.

Ooh, this was a nice treasure trove. I'd like to take every weapon with me, if that's possible. Drop some food/water if necessary.

Anyway, I would like to head east to the clinic now and treat the wounds, even if they're only minor. I don't particularly care how I get there, only make sure that I constantly check the tracking device.

Once at the clinic, I want to see how many people are inside.

- If nobody's inside, enter, treat my wounds, and set up an ambush. If necessary abandon treatment if a target needs to be dispatched.

- If one to three people are inside, I am to chuck the bible through a side window in order to break it. After that has been accomplished, toss a grenade in. As soon as I do that, I am to run to the front door and wait for the explosion. Immediately after it explodes, I am to break in and shoot everyone present with my MAC-10. The idea with the grenade is I want everyone to dive for cover and not have time to find a shot at the front door/me. Once all parties are eliminated, treat my wounds and prepare an ambush.

- If four or more people are inside, I am to find a sheltered position with a clear shot at the front door. Pick anyone off who enters or exits.

Ah, well. I had my fun while it lasted, killing four people in five turns. Thanks to pevergreen and especially Myrddraal for putting this thing together. Excellent job everyone and once again, congrats to TinCow! :applause:

IO'll get all of my PMs later, but letsjust say that I did very little. I:

• Grabbed some drugs from the clinic (Laxatives and Sleeping Pills as you may have guessed)
• Met shlin in there
• Poisoned shlin, took his stuff BUT left him alive
• Worked my way over to the Well
• Dumped the remaining drugs all in at once
• Waited with some trip wire and prepared to choke anyone who came by
• Talked to a Mulberry Bush - interesting story... I know Ignoramus could perhaps tell you about something in one of his PMs
• Got sick of waiting, so moved South.
• Saw someone, ran back
• Moved into the Church and was 'naded.

@Ichigo, again you died because you didn't PM me. The pretext for your death was the mouldy cheese you ate in the round before. It made you very ill and you took a nap (passed out) on the floor, only to be discovered by Marshal Murat who took no mercy.

Thanks to Pever, Sapi and Myrddraal for running. Well done, Tincow. I was hoping to escape on the boat somehow, but fate intervened. I haven't kept all my PMs, but roughly.

1 - I went to the city area, expecting it to be quite wealthy and little inhabited. Met and teamed up with DoH and Roadkill
2-X we continued as we wanted to, avoiding any action. We ditched DoH after he didn't send orders in to Sapi, so continued. Eventually, I betrayed and killed him with the mace, and then headed for the boat. Made contact with Iggy, but then he went off, and the boat became a forbidden zone, so I went out and got shot.

Well, good game all !

Was a lot of fun up until GeneralH wasted me near the church, whilst while reading the write up there where moments where it all could have turned out differently - but at least I made him bleed :laugh4:

I have deleted most of my early messages, so I've lost everything up until my last teammate got killed and I set out on my own. I grabbed everything I could carry and made for the clinic:

You strap on Cimmerian's armour, shoulder your bow and arrow, and gather your automatic pistol and broadsword. It's a heavy load, and the armour is uncomfortable against your wound.

Small rivulets from the rain have run down the slope ahead of you, leaving now dried beds. The sun is shining and the land is drying after the thunderstorm. Though you are heading downhill, the walk is surprisingly hard. Eventually you reach the base of the mountain, and you glance at the open fields ahead of you. The clinic is a small blob, far enough away to be almost indistinguishable from the nearer bushes. You see nobody, and continue on your way, keeping low and sticking to what available cover there is.

As you get closer to the clinic, you notice a corpse lying in a field. From a distance you can already see that it is General Handkerchief, and that his corpse has already been stripped of its kit.

After a hard treck, you eventually jump into a small ditch about 400 or so metres from the clinic and pause to catch your breath. This is a good place to observe the clinic from. The windows seem broken, and bordered up in a rather clumsy manner, you can't see through them however.

Your breath regained, you circle round to get a good view of the front door, you decide to move a little closer. Taking another look, you still see nobody. You decide to settle down and watch the clinic for a little longer. The fact that the windows are barricaded makes you cautious, why would anyone bother to do that if they didn't intend to stay there.

By the door you can just make out a tripod, but whatever was standing on it is gone. You settle down to watch for the rest of the day. You hear nothing and see nobody.

Being as quiet and as stealthy as possible, I discard everything except the pistol. I stash it in a hard-to-find spot and cover it with leaves and twigs so that it is less visible. I then circle the clinic until I find the side that allows for the best avenue of approach without being seen from inside. I then move up to the outside wall of the clinic, quickly or slowly, depending on what seems like the best way to arrive without drawing attention.

Once I am to the wall, I stop and listen for sounds from inside. If I do not hear anything for 15 minutes, I will enter and attempt to find medication to further heal myself.

During this entire 'turn' I will have my gun drawn and prepared to fire. If I ever see anyone, I will attempt to kill them unless it is obvious that I am outgunned and/or outmaneuvered. My preferred method of attack is to sneak up from the rear or the flank. I will hold fire until I am close-in if I can accomplish it without being detected. If I am outgunned, outmaneuvered, or otherwise at a disadvantage in combat, I will attempt to retreat to safety.

You move back to a safe distance from the clinic, and finding cover behind a bush discard the heavy armour, sword and bow. You place them under the bush and break some branches to cover them. It's not the best of disguises, but the kit shouldn't be visible from a distance.

To the west you hear two shotgun rounds then a few seconds later an explosion rings out, closely followed by the tolling of a bell. A few seconds pass, then a second explosion follows, then quiet.

Concentrating on the task at hand you ready your pistol and crouch, ready to go. A short sprint brings you to the clinic wall, to the left of the door. You're breath is coming in short bursts, and your side aches. You crouch back to the wall, pistol aimed to your left.

This close you can clearly see the tripod. It has a video camera hanging from some electric cables to one side. The lens is broken and there are several broken pieces lying on the floor.

Something else that strikes you is the smell, you can't identify it, but it's not pleasant. Keeping an eye out for anyone approaching from outside, you listen for anything inside. You hear nothing. The door is also slightly ajar, something that would seem to indicate that the clinic is empty.

Cautiously, you slide along the wall till you are right next to the door. In one movement, you swing, kick the door, and spin into cover on the right of the doorway. There is no movement or sound from within. You spin around the doorframe, finally looking inside, pistol at the ready.

Your stomach turns, but your training keeps you from gagging and shock. There are flies everywhere, and the reason for the smell immediately becomes apparent. Almost at your feet lies the corpse of your friend and ally AggonyDuck. He lies on his back, eyes glazed and staring at the ceiling. A single large bullet wound spread across his chest shows how he died. Worse still, Shlin hangs by a rough rope from the ceiling. His corpse sways gently, his tongue hangs loose, his face frozen in an expression of horror.

A heavy table has been overturned facing the door, presumably to provide cover for any defenders, and the remaining furniture has been piled up against the windows. All the cupboards are open, the shelves ransacked. Both AggonyDuck and Shlin have nothing but the clothes on their back remaining.
Despite the fact that others have obviously been here before, there are still odds and ends of medical equipment, mostly lying on the floor and scattered around. You find some antiseptic cream, an odd roll of bandages, surgical needle and stitches and some syringes with suspicious looking green liquid inside.

Your wound has clotted and sealed itself on both sides thanks to the herbs you found, but it is tender and fragile, threatening to open again when you exert yourself. Trying hard to ignore the smell and flies, you gently apply antiseptic. Gritting your teeth, you begin to stitch up the wounds, first on the back then the front. You then bandage the wound to hold it together.

Further examination of the area indicates two bullet holes in the barricade of one window, and a single rifle casing behind the table. You rest, and take up watch through cracks in the window barricades. Your remaining equipment apart from the pistol is still hidden outside. Nobody comes this way.

If there is any further use I can get out of the medical equipment, I do so. If not, or when I am done, I cut down Shlin and prop him up behind the barricade/table so that only the top of his head is visible to anyone entering through the door. I then drag AggonyDuck's body outside so that it lies facedown, as if it fell while approaching the Clinic door.

I then go to my equipment hiding spot and drag it all inside the clinic. I prop the stuff up against the back wall so that it is visible when someone enters, but arranged so that it looks like it is spare equipment that was put there for temporary storage. The only exception to this is the helmet of the armor, which I place on Shlin's head.

I then find a spot outside the Clinic where I am hidden from sight, but can still see the doorway. The closer the better, but I prefer superior cover to proximity. When I am happy with my covered area, I fire into the air. If my position is close to the doorway, I can fire from the covered position. If my position is far away from the doorway, I fire from the doorway and then quickly move to the covered position. The firing will be three shots immediately after one another, followed by a single shot 15 seconds later. If I fire by the door, I pick up the shell casings and take them with me.

As before, during this entire 'turn' I will have my gun drawn and prepared to fire. If I ever see anyone, I will attempt to kill them unless it is obvious that I am outgunned and/or outmaneuvered. My preferred method of attack is to sneak up from the rear or the flank. I will hold fire until I am close-in if I can accomplish it without being detected. You add another layer of bandaging to your now stitched wounds. It's still hard to breath (it seems the bolt may have penetrated or collapsed part of your lung), but the bandaging and stitching now take a lot of the pressure and movement hurts less. You leave the syringes where they are, you have no idea what they contain.

Twitching your nose against the smell, you lift Shlin out of his noose, and prop his head against the upturned table. From behind, he looks ridiculously uncomfortable, his legs flat out behind him and his chin lying on the table edge, but anyone glancing through the door could easily be forgiven for mistaking him to be alive, apart from maybe the flies everywhere.

Dragging AggonyDuck leaves a patch of blood where he lay, but soon he is outside by the door, face looking to the sky. Whilst outside you glance around to check for approaching targets, and, finding none, gather up your hidden kit and take it inside. Sword, bow and quiver you prop upright against the wall behind the helmet, next to it you put the armour and bag. Finally you ram the helmet down on Shlin's head.

Outside there are several alternative areas of cover. The fact that the area is mostly open seems a mixed blessing; you will surely spot anyone approaching over the open ground, but decent cover which will conceal you is hard to find. There is the ditch you used when you approached the clinic, but this is quite some distance to the east of the clinic, and as such is probably on the route of anyone approaching. It seems that lying flat behind the bush you used to conceal your kit provides, if not the best defence, the best concealment, and a good view of the front door.

You give a final review of your setup and have a bite to eat (stale bread again). Everything is in place.

Raising your pistol, you fire a shot, wait 3, fire again, wait 3 and fire a last time. The trap is set.

Lying in ambush here gives you a good chance to rest after your exhertions. You lie on your stomach behind the bush, propping your chest up with your elbows to take the weight off your wounds.

Rest and recuperation are all well and good, but you also keep an eye out for anyone making their way to the clinic. It's mostly open ground from here to the main road. There are some dips and some cover, but it's a lot of ground for someone to cover in the open, and you're watching.

However, nobody heads this way, and you don't hear anything from the rest of the island

The flies around the Clinic are thriving in the heat, and you're mostly downwind of the place, adding a distinct stench to the area.

You hear nothing, and nobody comes your way.

I grumble to myself about how there's always something going wrong with my plans. I consider cannibalism for a moment before deciding it would probably make me sick. I then gather whatever food and medical supplies I have managed to scrounge and leave the clinic. I do not take any of the armor or other medieval weaponry with me. I want to travel fast and light, relying on stealth as much as possible.

This is my pistol. There are many like it but this one is mine. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me my pistol is useless. Without my pistol, I am useless. I must fire my pistol true. I must shoot straighter than the enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will.

I move west and attempt to make it to the Apple Orchard. If I cannot move that far this 'turn' I make as much progress as I can. I specifically avoid the Small Church by a very wide margin, preferring to move southwest into E5, then west to the Orchard. I try to travel in areas that provide cover for me, specifically avoiding walking near the Main Road, except when I have to cross over it.

If I make it to the Orchard this 'turn' I will scavenge for fruit as best I can without drawing attention to myself.

As usual, during this entire 'turn' I will have my gun drawn and prepared to fire. If I ever see anyone, I will attempt to kill them unless it is obvious that I am outgunned and/or outmaneuvered. My preferred method of attack is to sneak up from the rear or the flank. I will hold fire until I am close-in if I can accomplish it without being detected. If I am outgunned, outmaneuvered, or otherwise at a disadvantage in combat, I will attempt to retreat to safety.

You gather your kit bar the medieval armour, braving the smell and disgusting scene of the clinic only long enough to recover your bow and quiver. Looking at the flies licking Shlin's staring eyeballs you decide that cannibalism would definitely be a bad thing.

As you set off, you are all too aware that the openness that would have exposed approaching enemies also exposes you. You do your best, but despite you efforts you spend most of the time between cover. It makes you shudder to think what powerful long range weapons might be out there.

You intend to cut the corner of the forbidden zone E6 as closely as possible, to avoid other players. Looking at the map you note that the main road runs very close but never enters that zone, so as soon as you reach the road in D6 you take a left and begin walking south. You stick to the road only for long enough to avoid entering the forbidden zone, then veer off to the east, keeping to the cover which is denser here.

To the east you hear 5 distant shots, but they aren't nearby so you make note and continue your journey.

You decide to take a rest and, once safely clear of the danger zone, leave the road to find a more concealed area. There you look out for anyone approaching. Anticipating juicy apples you allow yourself a slightly larger portion of bread.

You are in E5, nobody comes your way.

I continue on to the Apple Orchard, where I do my best to gather enough food for 4-5 more 'turns' quickly, but stealthily. When that is done, I move towards the eastern edge of the orchard, near the border with E5.

(Up to this point I will have my gun drawn and prepared to fire. If I ever see anyone, I will attempt to kill them unless it is obvious that I am outgunned and/or outmaneuvered. My preferred method of attack is to sneak up from the rear or the flank. I will hold fire until I am close-in if I can accomplish it without being detected. As the trees begin to thin out, I drop to my stomach and crawl forward, to make myself as undetectable as possible. I continue crawling forward until I reach a point where I can see a decent ways out of the forest to the east and northeast. In choosing my position, I favor better cover over better visibility, if I cannot get both at once. As quietly as possible, I use leaves, twigs, and fallen brush to camouflage myself. I then remain lying down in the prone position with my gun drawn. I fire at anyone that approaches, but I will hold my fire if it looks like they will get closer without noticing me. In such a situation, I will fire when I feel like I have a good chance of hitting them. I will aim for the head or the weapon-arm, whichever is easier to hit.

Making your way towards the Orchard, you are extra cautious this last part of journey. well before there is any threat of being detected, you drop down and crawl, inching yourself forward.

Your progress is slow, and painful, the pressure on your side threatening to open your wounds despite their extensive stitching and bandaging. You rest, your breath doesn't come easy like this either.

Looking ahead you get your first glimpse of the orchard. Large red and green apples hang off trees in neat ordered rows. Ladders are propped against some trees in order to make picking easy. Some of the trees have clearly been visited, clear bare batches showing where apples have been picked. There is a rusting tractor in one corner of the orchard. The orchard is smaller than you expected, you can see to the opposite edge.

Seeing no one, and given the pain in your side, you rise to a crouch, and move swiftly to the tractor, taking cover behind its large wheels. Waiting a few minutes, you assure yourself that the area is clear.

The first apple you pick you bite into there and then, sending clear juices spraying. As quickly as you can, given your injury, you have gathered a good supply of food. Enough certainly to last the few remaining rounds.

Making your way back to the eastern side, you realise that the tractor could provide excellent cover and camouflage. Hiding in the overgrown grass below the tractor, you cover yourself as best you can with long grass ripped from the orchard's overgrown boundaries.

You wait and watch, but nobody comes this way.

When I was writing the final chapter of your life, I wasn't sure wether to have you live or die. My initial idea was to have you surrender after long hesitation, dissalusioned with the game and the government that gave him his mission. This dissalusionment was to be represented by feeling that despite the fact that he won, the government were the real winners in the affair.

Then I remembered the little passage about the pistol. It fit so well with the situation I envisaged, so I decided you would die defying your new enemy rather than submit.

Because my decision (to surrender then changing my mind thinking of the pistol) mirrored the decision of your character, it made the ending extra special for me.

Like I said I thought I was already dead. It probably could have been avoided if I would have knocked out Ignoramus, since it all started because I was knocked unconscious by him. I'm sorry Myrd. If there's a next time I'll do better.

Yeah it was. I still don't understand why I got a camera as a weapon.

I had a 10 10 6 guy and I was WoGGed. Damn.

WoGed for being too lazy to send more than a 4 word order, which usually read along the lines of : Stay where I am.

I placed a forbidden zone on Caius, and he said something like "Move one square left". That wasn't good enough for me, here's what followed:

You turn to leave your hiding place at the top the lighthouse, gathering your things. Opening the door to the stairwell you notice that there was a leak in the roof when it rained. The stairs are wet, but at least it has stopped raining.

You have no time to waste; the forbidden zone will soon be active. Taking the steps two at a time, you race downwards. However, the wet stairs betray you. Feet slipping out from beneath you, you tumble down the stairs, finally knocking yourself out on the floor.

Later in the day, when the forbidden zones become active, a dull explosion is heard from within the lighthouse.
