Well, my friend. That doesn't work for ME. When I take the link, it alternates back and forth between the BKB site and sidebar.tripod.com/blahblahblah
Ah well if you've got the mod its nothing you ain't seen before. All pics will go in this thread in future.
Hey BKB just checking up on your progress on the supermod.
Nextinstall date?
And will you upload it to Mizus as well, it seems to be the only download wich works for me.
On your site it only has access to download early-beta.
have any finished mods been released? also this needs a fresh install right?
thanks.
Earl of Sandwich:
I got the same thing when I used my Yahoo browser. Try using internet explorer, it works for me on that.

Now I have a few questions http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/biggrin.gif .
Will we be seeing any of the Byzantine Epirus or Morea factions? Maybe even a Trebizond one?
What are your thoughts of any other Turk factions? Because at the time of the First Crusade the Danishmandids occupied most of eastern Asia Minor while the Saljuqs of Rum had the west (probably Anatolia and Nicaea by using the MTW map.) The Turks seemed to always have problems with the eastern regions of Asia Minor and maybe throwing in another Turk faction could make things interesting?
Will El Cid still be a 9-star general? I think this is too much. I'd favour something like 5-star and a virtue of Expert Attacker. Something like he is in the original game I guess.
That's it for now http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...icons/wave.gif .
Epirus and morea and trebizond will be in eastern promise but not in this mod. That area os congested enough me thinks.
I will reduce el cid if people want it.
The danishmends will make eastern promise but alas lack of room makes them not appear in this mod.
Minikiller wait till tuesday, super early and high finished versions(nearly 99 percent full version, probably a small patch might follow it incase i forget something) and the two maps will be released with a auto install.
I just want to say to people don't expect anything new bar the maps apart from a few gameplay tweaks. Units are tight at the minute - I'm vastly running out of BIF room space. I wanted to make Icelandic Infantry but there really is no room for another shield in any of the foot soldiers folders. Expect many new cavalry units in Late, although you can look forward to the likes of English and French Foot Knights and Orebite Spearmen.
Can't wait. I have no problems with El Cid being a Nine star, it makes sense to me. Makes more sense than the rest of the really high start kings of the rest of the small factions.
Thank you, I guess I'll wait lol I'll just go back to my small little MTW no mod version http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/gc-wall.gif heh thanks for the quick replyQuote:

Mid july hopefully geezer http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...-2thumbsup.gif
Is it tuesday yet? Damnit lol I want more factions, more territory, more units and more mayhem ahhhh lol ok BKB thats sweet that it will have an auto install but do I need a fresh install of MTW or will it be like an add-on. thank ya m8 http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...evalcheers.gif
Will this mod use the homelands rule like in the Medmod? That is factions can only train troops that share their ethnicity.
Hi everyone, I know this is my first post but rest assured I have been reading this forum regularly for about a year now. I've never posted before because I've never really had anything worth saying that hasn't been said before but if one thing was going to make me post it had to be this mod... its great, the way all the small factions stop any of the big factions just strolling over the map like I found the Almohads used to in early.
Enough gratitude, the one thing I think will help the next mod and solve one major issue is the use of York as a further province in Britain. I mod the game quite a lot - always use your mod as the canvas (forgive me I know not what I do) - and I also added York(shire) as a province in Britain. It makes a huge difference. England can more than cope now they have one extra province that's not on any frontiers. I noticed a bigger difference in their fortunes than I found when I simply just removed the Welsh. Top move BKB Yorkshire folk to the rescue.
I also agree with the splitting of Greece, again this made a big difference... I took out Serbia, enlarged Croatia, put in Epirius, Macedon and Achaea with plenty of trade goods. Greece became a 3 way warzone between the Croatias, Sicilians and Byzantines.
Can't wait for the new patch to see what you've done with the new units. I'm no good at the units and buildings side of things see (and not much history beyond English and French)... don't worry I never distribute my mods beyond me (no plagerism here).
Anywho... thanks for keeping this game alive for me
Despot this doesn't use the homelands rule, thankfully. Quite anoying, that was.
I agree that there are cases where the homelands rule doesn't make a lot of sense. A good example of this is the fact that a Catholic power is unable to train feudal men-at-arms Europe-wide; and the English can't even train swordsmen at all
Al Khalifah, thanks for the kinds words dude it means alot http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...s/gc-blush.gif
I had a game with england today this is how it went. War with france. Peace after pope threatens me. Navarre invade gascony. Take it back off them. The french hit back by taking anjou. I have a civil war. Welsh hit mercia. I hit back and take wales kill off the welsh. The irish hit northumbria and york. I fight and take back the provinces, kill the irish king. They are extinct. The scots invade wales and mercia as i do this and the danes invade york as i burn scotland.
Things are tough but i plan to change it(hopefully http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/biggrin.gif )
welcome to the org Al Khalifah http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...icons/wave.gifQuote:

Sounds tough BKB, but then again the English were (are) tough...
And I was just thinking to myself wouldn't it be good to split Scotland / Ireland (Highlands, Edinburgh, Munster, Ulster)..... on second thoughts maybe not, don't give them anymore chances.
What setting are the Navarese on for AI? They seem to just love picking a fight with the biggest opponents they can find (especially England) but I suppose Navare is hardly an empire.
Last exam tomorrow, end of college could coincide very nicely with the new mod release. Schools out and I think I'll be invading France http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/biggrin.gif
Navarre are on catholic defensive but it doesn't stop them from waging war on aragon and england. But i plan to strengthed gascony so they will hopefully regret the invasion.
I would love to split up other countries but the province room is a real bugger. Hopefully these new ones such as seville will add extra spice to the iberia area and Pathalogonia(sp) will have byzantium, turks and armenia fighting over it
might have missed my last question bkb that or i missed ur answer, or u didnt answer cause it was a dumb question lol http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...s/confused.gif

Minikiller it would be safer to have fresh install me thinks
the teutonic knight will be in the mod Master BkB??
What the faction or the units? Yes, the Teutonic Knights will be in High with their plethora of unique units.
ok m8
Is it possible to Mod the Golden Horde into the High Period as a Plyable Faction?
Yes it's quite simple. Go into Campmap, then Startpos and open the Super High file. Then set the Golden Horde to Major and remove the // before the line. Then give them a starting province and set their Khan in it and you should be laughing. I would have done it but for two reasons:
a) It's not historically accurate
b) They lose their impotus. When they invade they sweep across Eastern Europe. When you stick them in a starting province, they appear to be quite stagnant.
Rest assured though, they will be playable in Super Late
Yes, I know it's Historically Inaccurate but I've been wanting to try the Korean Units..
Then go for it mate, that remark wasn't really due to historical accuracy but more about gameplay, which you will hopefully see with this release on tuesday http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...icons/wave.gif
Blind King, are the maps as shown on the Maps and Factions part of your website the ones which will feature in your mod? Or will they be slightly different?
In early it is, High is kind of the same. Try the previous couple of pages there is info that will sort you out http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...-2thumbsup.gif
Cheers, thanks Nice to see Trebizond cut in two.
Until tomorrow I suppose I'll have to do a bit of http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...s/handball.gif while I'm waiting.
Sorry to double post (I would edit if I could) but with the Turks losing Armenia to the new Armenian faction perhaps they should gain Anatolia from the Byzantines? As I think the Byzantines lost that territory to the Turks, along with quite a lot of Asia Minor, in the latter half of the 11th century.
Nicaea and anatolia belong to the turks in the mod http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/biggrin.gif
I changed 1 thing in the game that took out some momentum out of the war wager and gives some time to plan befor 5 countrys attack.
I changed all units buildtimes from 1 to 2, 2 to 3 and 3 to 4 (not the ships) and increased assasin buildtimes to 3
Also i limited the Generalkilling Inquisitors from the pope by giveing them buildtime 4 ,GrandInq. 6.
In early it works out nicely and wars are less likely and take longer. No swarming early on.
In High its nice too til the mongols hit the Teutonic knights wich have neither the cash nor the units to withstand a 3 side attack (I was playing the Order)
I should make some changes to the starting troopproducing buildings to compensate and add 2-3 ships for trades incl. 2x port and merchant. The order starts with negative income (0.61) unless u plan to give them more then 2 provinces.
In general I find the longer buildtimes more fun to play and i try out the english now...wish me luck:D
Sidenote: I removed the Wessex/Flanders border so the British isle is only accessable by ship. Well I found out the english like Friesland (in game Freisland) and saxony a lot when I do that.../shrug
Sorry Blind King it must be more who is blind My apologies http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...hogunshame.gif .Quote:

At the moment i'm soughting out the english because they get ripped apart. The wessex and flander border being took away didn't make a difference im my game they still had loads of wars. In my last game england was allied with navarre and genoa and fought quite well in france. But at home the danes, norway, scotland and ireland took the english home posessions away, so at the mo i'm trying to stregthen old blighty http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/biggrin.gif
More often than not I did find the English get slapped a lot by the French. But their problems are as nothing compared to the Holy Roman Empire, which tends to disintegrate badly after the course of a century as the French, Poles and Italians rip into them, or they fall apart due to civil war.
The hre are better trust me. I saw them batter the bohemians and then fight the venetians. Its the civil war problem that hurts england as well.
That's good news Every single time I have played MTW the HRE have always ceased to be after 100 years.
Have you ever thought about having a Hospitaller faction for the Late period?
Is there a self installer for this mod? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...gc-stunned.gif
will be one
are u talkin about an istaller this monday ? WHERE ?? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...gc-stunned.gif
wow
the patch will be launch tomorrow vlad http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...cons/frown.gif
geee GREAT i wait for this patch for months.who cares for one day +.
This might have been said before but just in case...
One reason I can suggest why the English are so prone to civil wars is due to the way that there is no definite link between all their provinces at the start of Super Early. Therefore the King cannot possibly reach any of the Angevin(sp) territories without first moving through Flanders which the French have at the start. I'm certain the game calculates a loyalty modifier for generals and provinces by taking the number of steps the king would have to take to reach them from his current position. In this case, the English king can't so provincial and general loyalties suffer strongly until Flanders is taken or a port is built in England.
I noticed this the other day playing as HRE in Super Early. I basically owned the old Roman Empire with Germany and Russia too and had ships in nearly every sea. The Emperor was useless and only about 19 so I thought I'd make him do something and tell him to invade Ireland. Won the battle. Next turn, all pronvincial loyalties rocketted down and I got a warning about civil wars. Turn afterwards 3 factions rememerged (Hungarians, Navaresse and Polish), I had about 30 rebellions even some in Germany and the empire was in ruins. I suspect because the port in Ireland was destroyed in the battle so my Emperor was isolated from the world. When I built the port loyalties returned. Reloaded game just to make sure, did the same thing only 3 years later, there was a civil war.
Damn Ireland. But a thought about why England has lots of civil wars.
Good point. I first removed the Flanders-Wessex land bridge but that made it worse. Things are better but I've tried everything - even a very nice exclusive new unit for the English - Norman Foot Knights (I told a lie earlier - one of a couple of new units ). I'm considering, and tell me what you guys think about this, adding a land bridge connecting Wessex and Normandy, providing a vital link between the English possessions. Good idea or not?
In High its not that bad. The mainland possessions are fine, but the Scots and Welsh see to dividing Britain between them. I will strengthen them. Early is completely done and I'm now working on tinkering High. I'll get it done by tonight and ensure that the whole thing is ready for uploading by tomorrow afternoon. Then lets hope Tosa can get it up by the evening And the mod as well http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...s/bigthumb.gif
Look through the thread and I'm sure you'll be happy. They get a new bodyguard unit too - Hospitaller Elite Guard who are a very tough customer. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ons/smokin.gifQuote:

I don't need any help in looking silly http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg.../gc-jester.gif . Damn I wish I could edit my posts http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...hogunshame.gif .
A land bridge between Wessex and Normandy? Not so sure, though it would help solve the English civil war problem, if the French got hold of it, then it'd be annoying. Plus it'd be none too historically accurate, as crossing the Channel at Normandy was quite dangerous - William was only able to because the English fleet was damaged by storms and the Allies had a lot of trouble doing it 900 years later due to the weather.
In Early I'm not sure if it will help but I thought giving the English a port in Wessex might help, as they've got two ships in the channel at the start. That'd give them a link to France - should help keep loyalty up. Maybe even give them an extra ship and a port in Aquitane - but that might give them too much trade too early.
Norman Foot Knights, definite thumbs up Trainable in Normandy only or everywhere?
A port don't help mate. I'm going to see how it goes and change it accordingly if it don't work. The irish and scots gang up and sink the english shipping Not to mention the french and sometimes the Norse http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/biggrin.gif
While I like the idea of having them in the mod, as an English player... I hate those Norsemen When they get Iceland things could get nasty.
Perhaps the Welsh, Scots and Irish should get weak ships early on, so instead of barques maybe the saxon boats or similar. Really their ships should be purely functional rather than combat to begin with, not really well known for naval prowess.
I think that the Irish mess up a lot with their pirating. The English do a lot better in high, when they've got Ireland in hands and a fleet to keep their lands together. Could you try it again but now without the Irish?
Ireland aren't really the main problem, its the scots and the welsh. Let me see what this land bridge does and if it sucks i'll remove it http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/biggrin.gif
I like the ship idea but i have no room in the unit prod. I'm thinking of getting rid of scotlands ship yard though so they can only attack down from scotland, not from the sea http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...-2thumbsup.gif
BKB, you're in England aren't ya?? Damn, I'm 10 hours ahead of you, it's already tuesday here
Sorry mate, looks like an early morning wednesday for you http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/biggrin.gif

UPDATE:
I'm putting together the auto-install as we speak. It's gonna be big (250MB?) but this will have everything up to this point, and you'll have to do nothing. I hope to have it uploaded by tonight, but I'm not sure when it will be available for download. This download will feature:
* The practically finished Super Early and Super High campaigns, extensively balanced and tested.
* 80 new units in total, plus 5 brand new units you will never have seen in any download: Norman Foot Knights, Voi, Danish Nobles, Catalonian Guard and Latin Knights.
* Correct PreBattleShields
* Brand new maps for Early and High, different from the one currently available for download and unique for each period.
cool will be in 3d ??
Thanks for the update Blind King http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...icons/wave.gif .
250MB ? Give it to Creative Assembly and let them publish it, release it and I'll buy it. It'd get here faster (damn lack of broadband) that way.
That's really going to test the bandwidth if everyone starts downloading it http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif .
Trust me boys it will be worth it. The game is well balanced and i finally saw the english and the hre fighting back, the english wiping out the welsh and the germans taking it to the french an venetians big style http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cg...ns/biggrin.gif
