Hey, you learn something new everyday....

I actually took my screen name right from the history books, Xanthippus of Sparta was a mercenary captain that led the Carthaginian armies aganist the Roman invasion of Africa during the First Punic War. He badly defeated the Roman Legions led by Regulus. If it not for him, Carthage might have been destroyed very early on, we wouldn't have the great story of Hannibal Barca, and the Roman domination of the West would have uncontested....

But hey, this is really a subject for another thread....
