I just can't imagine how you can make do with so much hanging over your head...
A lot of people can't. It's becoming a big problem. Though now, because of the mortgage crisis, student loans are becoming harder to get. It's a trade off. Get the loan in hope that your degree will let you get a job that will allow you to pay off the loan. Or don't get the loan and have little chance of affording college.
Work hard and live frugally. One of my friends from law school graduated in the top 5 in our class, got a top level associate position at a good DC firm, and was making $125k per year right out of school, which was close to $200k after bonuses. To earn this, he worked about 80 hours per week and had no life whatsoever. After three years he had paid off his debt, quit the firm, and moved to LA to become a criminal prosecutor. When he moved, his apartment furniture amounted to a bed and a couch. His TV sat on the floor. He had 4 roommates when he got to LA. :wall:
and without a college education, good luck buying a home, ever.
The whole reason I'm in college, besides the fact that I don't want to work dead end jobs forever, is because I'd like to raise a family and I can't do that in a cardboard hut, or 18 foot camper.
Ah good to be living in good ole Germany. Until a few years ago and also according where you live you have to pay around 100€ to 200€ for every half year you want to study and that includes a free bus ticket most of the time and is only for general management.
There's been a big fuss and massive protests when they tried to raise or raised it to an extra 500€ every half year. That's considered too expensive here! :beam:
First of all, what the heck happened to my country?

In spite of all that, I love America. Why? Because I married her, that's why. Till death do us part.
God bless America! Land that I love!
:unitedstates:
USA! USA! USA!
I just wanna say that I didn't make any of the posts in the Byzantine Name thread, except the first one, ATPG hacked into my accounts for reasons that are unclear to me.

For my part, I stay because all my stuff is here.:clown:

Which parts do you feel were weak, just out of curiosity?
Perhaps we have a difference of opinion, I'm just wondering where it comes from. :medievalcheers:
While he could go more into specifics, I found ATPG's list to be dead on.
Though I fear deeper conversation might be more the province of the backroom. We've gone down this road before in the KotR OOC thread. ^_^
sigh...
I don't know, I mean this is an OOC chatroom. The official topic of this thread is: be out of character and talk about what you want.
I suppose there are some guidelines, to be sure. But can we relax the rules a little so long as we dont start flaming each other?
PK- not that kind of flaming.
*starts waving St.George's cross*
ENGLAND!!! ENGLAND!!! ENGLAND, ENGLAND, ENGLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I started a bit of a stir the last time I tried to talk politics in an OOC thread in the throne room. I'm just passing along what I was told. Politics are probably best kept to the backroom or PM's.
Your right, that kind of flaming is to be confined to Tristan's thread about the meaning of Byzantine names. :beam:Quote:
PK- not that kind of flaming.
All 'controversial' discussions on the Org get sent to the Backroom, it doesn't matter where they originate. That applies equally to the LotR OOC thread. If you want to make an LotR thread in the Backroom, be my guest. I don't manage that place anyway (thank god).
It does sadden me that people can't have relaxed, enjoyable, and civilized converations about religious or political disagreement without suddenly becoming militant extremists about it.
That being said, I understand moderators wanting to cut it off before it becomes a mess that needs to be cleaned up, deleted, censored, and warnings given out. That must get old fast.
I don't see why you'd want to discuss politics when you can discuss sports.
sports? Ugh...
I will leave my opinions about sports out of this thread, because they would offend people more than my political views.
I agree. My opinion on sports would quickly qualify as controversial...
And here's my two cents:

*shudder*
That's the reaction I was going for, and the only sane one.
I declare myself the winner of the innuend-off contest, that we might now confine Efstratios' dubious status as a 30-year old guy who's never been married and is constantly seen with the 16 year old Tarasios, to nothing more than amusing foreshadowing.

Don't start up again, because I'm required by law to bat one back in your direction.
Frankly, if you're even referring to my charms, I am a little frightened. At least you didn't misspell wily as "willy".Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
How long is this going to go on for. I warn everyone else to steer clear of my userpage, evil things have happened there...
I'm going to report all those 111-111-111-111's, as those are clearly spam postings
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I don't think they can really punish me for spamming on my own userpage...
And I'm sorry to say it but I've already reported every single post I've seen you make in the last 24hrs :clown:
